DETROIT -- Marco Scutaro singled home the tiebreaking run in the 10th inning, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Detroit Tigers 4-3 on Sunday night to complete a four-game sweep and win their second World Series title in three years.
Ryan Theriot, who went hitless for St. Louis in Game 7 of last year's Series, singled softly into right field off Phil Coke opening the 10th. Brandon Crawford sacrificed, nearly bunting the ball past Coke. Angel Pagan struck out and Scutaro singled into short center field as Theriot slid home ahead of Austin Jackson's throw.

Boooooo!!!
...well, okay, congratulations to the winner.
Thanks Obama for dooming the Tigers.
It was a given that the Giants were going to win. Obama picked Detroit.
Another Obama endorsement, Another loss. I’m just glad that Obama has endorsed himself this election.
Two Series in three years for the Giants?!
Time and space... turns...
I suffered now three World Series in a row....I feel like a Buffalo Bills fans.
“You don’t just pick the winners and losers, Mr. President.
You pick the losers”.
Here in Detroit we blame Obama for taking our side for political purposes. Now we have to go out and blame our loss on him and rememeber this on the 6th,
Congratulations to the Giants and their fans, They were definately the better team.
The Giants threw the Tigers under the bus!
World Series won by the SF Giants WITHOUT Barry Bonds: 2
Justice!
where was Benoit? Coke really aint good vs. righties and they let Scutaro beat him.
Take that East Coast sports media!!!!!
So Detroit had all the big MO going for them?
Media whores did the same thing to the Giants
in ‘10 when the Rangers were supposed to have
the big edge.
All you boobirds can STICKIT!!!!!!
GO GIANTS!!!!!!
Here’s some irony.
The baseball Giants closer’s last name is “Romo”.
And Tony Romo failed to close against the Football Giants.
GIANTS!!!!!
Wow that’s fascinating. One Romo saved the Giants, another Romo failed to slay the Giants in one day. Good day to be a giant.
I am an immigrant. I came to the US as a child. One of the first things I learned was baseball. And that in order to go around the bases you first must actually hit the ball. In the fair area (not foul). And not just swing at it, that is not good enough. You must actually hit it into the fair territories. So the Detroits team was not doing this very well. So they lost. That is baseball. You must hit it once and a while.
