A former Navy SEAL told Breitbart News on Friday that allegations of negligence during the 9/11/12 Benghazi attack exemplified Obama's "failed policy of appeasement and apology" and was Obama's "Watergate" with four deaths.
Ryan Zinke, a member of the Montana state Senate former U.S. Navy SEAL, said it was "unconscionable that the Administration would not immediately act when our consulate is under attack," and this was Obama's "Watergate with one exception" -- "the result was the loss of our Ambassador and three young heroes."
"There is no better example of the President's failed policy of appeasement and apology than America being delayed because we had to ask Libya's permission to fly in their airspace to rescue our Ambassador," Zinke told Breitbart News. "Even sending aircraft overhead would have helped."

The article brings up a good point. Just sending some fast planes, fighters, at roof top levels may have scared off the attackers. Surely, those folks have seen some of the vids where helicopters and ac130s have been watching, then picking the enemy off.
This here, is such a bungled operation, that no amount of spin or deception can cover it up. Fortunately, Obama is going to be gone soon, and the administration will not be left to cover it up. Also, with Obama gone, there will be folks speaking up faster and in greater numbers.

The fact that Colin Powell came out publicly in support of Obama, in light of Benghazi-gate, kinda says it all. Some of our military are treasonous enemies of America.
In Benghazi, we have a sitting president cooperating with Al Qaeda terrorists, our current enemy in an active war, giving them arms to help oust a sitting leader (Qaddafi), to help that terrorist movement (the Arab Spring) continue across the Middle East.
In that cooperation, the sitting President plots to have an Ambassador (a rather important position) kidnapped, and plans to trade his life for the life of a horrible terrorist (the Blind Sheik), and to use the goodwill from that staged "leadership" in the (pre-arranged) trade to help win an election.
When that plan goes awry, because two honorable Navy SEALs disobeyed White House orders to stand down, and attempted to save a fellow American. The White House then orders all other potential support to stand down, leaving the Ambassador, his clerk, and the SEALs to be slaughtered.
THIS IS NOTHING LIKE WATERGATE. THIS IS MORE LIKE HIGH TREASON, MURDER, AND A MASSIVE COVER-UP AT NUMEROUS LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AND MEDIA.

To me, Powell was one of those generals that achieved the position through political, not military, prowess. Being black, especially during the period he moved up, certainly did not hurt him ( affirmative action).
Now I was only a LT for 5 years active duty in NavSpecWar, but it was imprinted deeply upon my brain that ONLY the POTUS can give cross-border permission. Probably a million living ex-military officers know this like they know 2+2=4. This Benghazi fiasco is Obama’s baby 100% and there is no way for him to wiggle out.
The system is designed to ENSURE that when a crisis is happening, (and a missing ambassador with a consulate under attack is “Crisis Level Infinity”), and military assets are already charging in to the rescue, the president must be in the loop to grant the the cross-border authorization. Nobody else can do this. This one formality must be followed, “just put your intitials here, Mr. President, for history,” so to speak. Boiler plate, but it must be done.
(Can you imagine Reagan or either Bush saying “No. Cross border permission not granted. Stop the rescue. Stand down.”)
The POTUS has to tell the Sec. State and JCS, “Yes, do it, execute the rescue, cross the borders.” Then it WILL happen, without delay, since the military is already on the way, flying in from all directions toward Benghazi.
But if POTUS says at 5pm DC time, “No military action, no cross border,” and then he becomes “unavailable,” then his last standing order stands until he changes it. So if he went to bed, for example, nobody could change his standing orders.
I imagine that a lot of extreme military, CIA and State Dept. craziness was going down while Obama was sleeping. Aircraft must be told proceed, or return to base, or they fall from the sky. I imagine many HEATED arguments around the globe on phone, text and email, subject, “Well wake the damn president up!” Followed by, “I can’t! You MUST stand down the mission!”
Just imagine dozens of inbound planes, jets and helos. Ships moving at full speed into position to be “lilypads” for long-range over-water helo refueling. Airborne refueling tankers all head to the area. It’s a complicated ballet. The Pentagon is wide awake, the military is on full alert. The rescue is in process, from the first minutes after the alarm.
Everybody in all the planes and involved HQs knows how many minutes/miles to the Libyan border, Benghazi, and their “bingo fuel” moment, when they must turn around or run dry and crash. Ships can “loiter,” but planes fall from the sky.
So you can imagine why General Ham of Africom was relieved for refusing to stand down. He probably KNEW Obama was “unavailable,” and was screaming over the phone, “Well, wake him up, dammit!!”
Planes and jets and helicopters and ships and commando teams are zooming all around the central Med, keying in on Benghazi——
And in that environment, OBAMA WAS ASLEEP AND UNREACHABLE!!!!!

This military process is logical and easy to understand (yes, a POTUS with 7th grade math ability should be able to comprehend this process thoroughly in minimum time). It annoys me to no end that FOX keeps repeating that the CIA, the DOD and State Department did not deny military action. Why the heck don't they just state, “...cross-border permission can only be given by the POTUS. It is unclear if Obama gave that permission.”?
If Obama is reelected, I could see Vince Flynn’s Term Limits coming true to life.

To me--that is PROOF he was present when these requests were made--or was at least notified of them having been made--IN REAL TIME!
SO--if he knew about them, and did NOT deny them, the only other thing he could have done was--IGNORE THEM!
And I think that is EXACTLY what he did--right after giving the order to "stand down" General Ham.
Then--he could go to bed, sleep well while the fire-fight at the Consulate was going on, get up and go campaign in Nevada, and complain about having "a tough day".

How many times a day do we violate Pakistani air space every day? When my daughter flew into Afghanistan from Kuwait, they flew over Pakistan territory. Back in the day, I was in the Military Attaché Office in Saudi Arabia. We processed many requests from US and allied aircraft to transit Saudi airspace. I don’t remember us having to get a presidential chop on every request

Even if it is true that 0 planned an "attempted kidnap" of Stevens, then the ex-SEAL's intervention to prevent it would have been enough to inform 0 that a monkey-wrench had been thrown into the scheme.
I really believe Obama saw what was going on, heard the calls for help, and DID NOTHING--for political reasons.
I am just so angry--he is my son's CIC, and I fear for him and all others who depend on such a "naked emperor" for leadership.

Man it just hit me, blaming the video was just a cover for what happened in Benghazi-perhaps a double cross was uncovered and the jihadis wanted to settle some scores. Although islamists used the video as a pretext to protest against the US on 911 across the ME, the WH and the State dept took advantage of the “video” incident to buy more time so they can get their story straight on the attack on the consulate once it became clear that something terribly went wrong and I would argue that the two seals that left their station to help the ambassador were not supposed to do that and their deaths compounded the problem thus propelled the WH and State dept to spin the story even more so. Was the ambassador involved in a scheme to funnel arms to Syria through Turkey? Or did he uncover this scheme and tried to put an end to it resulting in his death? Man this story has legs. People died for what can arguable be considered an intelligence operation that was perhaps run right out of the WH.
But Nixon sent John Kerry into Cambodia in December 1968 when he was only President-Elect! Kerry said so.
Let's not give the video story a shred of credibility. It doesn't deserve it.
Recall that the Cairo mob was chanting "Obama, we are all Osamas now!" when they assaulted the Cairo embassy. They said zilch about the video.
Indeed, the only mentions of the video associated with this event was a.) an e-mail from somebody in the embassy apologizing for the video...two hours before the protest began and b.) the excuses that Barry and Hill gave afterward.
As I recall, the video had racked up 113 viewings on You Tube before Cairo. And, across the Middle East, internet access is between 1-2% of population -- so the Arab Street was blissfully ignorant of "The Innocence of Muslims"

Ambassador is the equivalant of a 4 star general. The Arabs know that. They know tat if we don’t follow this officially (not just in the media, which already is abyssymal) but in congress.

Your post reminds me. CNN “found” the ambassador’s diary which contained SIX pages. In those pages, he expressed his concern about security. Were there pages missing? Did he write down his other concerns and those pages disappear? Obviously, Western reporters and news crews were roaming the area freely right after the attack occurred. I have no doubt that other Americans were also looking for things that should disappear. No doubt.

All I am saying is the video was used as a bait and switch to give the admin time to get their lies straight. The video was just a ruse hoping it would carry them over the finish line on Nov 6th. Given the sycophantic media lapping up all Obama does, they confidently believed that they can get away with it. But then somebody died.
