Obama’s narcissism a danger to America, and the world
BizPacReview.com ^ | October 27, 2012 | Mark Kahlberg

I went back to watch the Cairo speech, watching over and over again, and I noticed that President Obama is really not an ordinary man. Hischaracter is indeed unique in that he has the ability to impress or frustrate. Even though I felt that at times he was quite ignorant to the most important subjects relating to Israel, like the 1967 borders, he never really spoke like a lawyer or politician but rather someone who was out to prove that he was the epicenter and not the problem. Obama’s language, posture and demeanor seemed wrong to me. This was supposed to be a president who gave hope to so many, who was supposed to implement change in a positive way for all. It was as if President Obama was projecting a grandiose posture that was not his. He looked out of place and suddenly was not the presidential figure representing the free world. It seemed that he created a sort of personality cult around himself, elevating his admirers blindly, presenting a somewhat false trust of enthusiasm that led followers to believe that no matter what he said in his speeches, he was free to do as he wished, unaccountable at all times. These admirers would follow at any cost, blindly as if in a daze or hypnotized. He promised the moon but delivered doom, and people were missing the real-life threats taking place, unfolding as an optical illusion of a beautiful spring dubbed “the Arab Spring.”

I was married to a narcissist in the 90s. Although it’s rarer in women, it was a valuable but expensive lesson to me in abnormal psych.

Now it does not take much for me to spot narcissism in people, especially blabbering politicians.

I used to think it was his narcissism that makes us less safe, now I believe it to be his islamocentrism.

Mike, we have much in common then ...
As an aside, it may not be rarer in women...as gender-bias plays into the diagnosing biz. Most females get the borderline PD diagnosis, while males get the NPD.
Books, studies, many words have been written to discuss the differential, but the mental health practitioners that I know say; “NPD feels like this, and BPD feels like that.”
iow, it’s a seat-of-the-pants thing.

I’m curious, and would appreciate your opinion on this. Don’t you find a remarkable parallel between the DSM criteria for NPD and liberalism/liberals in general?
Seems to me the DSM for Narcissism actually DESCRIBES liberals.

Having survived marriage to an NPD, like you, my radar is highly tuned. I can spot them a mile away!
Cheers!

“Don’t you find a remarkable parallel between the DSM criteria for NPD and liberalism/liberals in general?”

Yes, I do. The Clinton Cartel made a statement (about Hillarycare, I think) that the people “did not understand” what they were trying to do for them.

Very few libs will even engage me dialogue, claiming my arguments “are not worth the time”.

This pathetic arrogance is typical of the narcissist thinking that they are special and different, and can only be understood be other special people.

This is why deluded liberals think they are so enlightened when they pat each other on the back spewing their nonsense talking points.

Yep.
I’ve posted about the NPD/Liberal parallel quite often here.
It’s striking.

It’s not only 0’s narcissism that is at issue, it is the narcissism of just about any liberal (past a certain age, as I give yute a pass).

Liberals are narcissists.

Narcissism seems to be a self-esteem issue, but the narcissist manufactures excessive false esteem for themselves.

The ones I have known were abused as children.

Abused, abandoned, etc. Yes.
As victims with undeveloped/immature coping skills - and no support, they *split* into self-loathing: “they must have deserved it”
That is the hated, FALSE self-image they compensate for, and desperately flee from the rest of their lives, with the construction of another FALSE self-image:
the skittle-pooping unicorn.

That is why the fear abandonment the most - it echoes the initial abuse, and calls up memories of the first false self.
And that is why they hate ridicule the most - it chips away at the second false self.

NPD is real. And 0 is most definitely one.
Being abandoned by his father, raised in the clutches of a trans-sexual nanny.
Drugs & hypersexuality (in 0’s case homosexuality) are frequent co-morbidities.

Most people think narcissists are “just” conceited asses, with too much self-esteem, ala George Will here:

http://tinyurl.com/at5jzyr

It’s just the opposite.

For libs to be narcissists, the “hated self” is white guilt...I think for blacks, it’s being a victim. Race.

I have also found projection to be common among Liberals and narcissists.

In my personal experience, they seem to go beyond simple lying. They seem to live in a delusion that others possess their character flaws and engage in their selfish abuse of people.

It’s like they have to tear everyone down to their level in order to live with themselves.
