Planned Parenthood won a temporary restraining order on Friday, preventing the state of Texas from excluding the group from participating in the Women's Health Program.
Austin state District Judge Amy Clark Meachum set a Nov. 8 trial date on Planned Parenthood's claim that Texas' effort to bar the group from the Women's Health Program is invalid under Texas law.
Rochelle Tafolla, a Planned Parenthood vice president in Houston, called the lawsuit important "because nearly 50,000 women rely on Planned Parenthood for this basic health care through the Women's Health Program, and the lawsuit today is to preserve their access to health care. We are pointing out that there is language on the state books that says the state cannot do this when it jeopardizes federal matching funds."
The organization that provides birth control and women's health care lost a legal fight Thursday when a federal appellate court denied Planned Parenthood's request for a rehearing. State leaders want to keep Planned Parenthood from getting any taxpayer dollars because of the group's involvement in abortions.

Planned Parenthood lied about Mamograms, are they lying about this too?
Do they really have anything to do with Women’s health other than murdering their babies?
Wow, pray for our Texas AG - we’re getting attacks everywhere.

If only the unborn could get “restraining orders”.
why are private orgs entitled to any public funds?
corporate welfare at the minimum
government death camps at the worse
Appears the judges up north have done the same to Indiana’s attempt to cut off funds to Planned unParenthood.
Planned Parenthood will never give up... they are addicts ...they are addicted to killing babies!
Yes, you have our sympathies. So much for pro ‘choice’, the only choice you have is to side with them.
FYI: All Texas judges are elected. Judge Meachum is running for re-election. She’s a judge in Travis county, a heavily Democratic country(it’s the Tx county where the University of Texas is based. UT has over 50,000 mostly liberal, moron potential student voters), so she’ll probably be re-elected. In TX, a state judge may be impeached by TX House & Senate. Also, they can be removed after review of a judicial commission and found guilty by a judicial tribunal or by the Tx Supreme Court. Her actions in this case, since it’s so close to the election, probably won’t get enough press to cause any voter reactions. I’d be willing to bet there’s already a complaint started against her for failure to recuse herself from the case. Something to watch—Texas is getting pretty aggressive against activist judges.
