Although Corning Incorporated did grow this quarter, officials expect to cut costs going forward.
Officials say there will be *job cuts* within the next quarter.
This is all part of a cost reduction program Corning Incorporated will start following the third quarter numbers.
Officials say although they had a strong quarter, growth was not what they hoped for, so some jobs are on the chopping block.
But they don't yet know how many, or from what departments, or locations these jobs will come from.
"We've not decided where they'll be. That is a business to business decisions, they will go through an analysis of how to cut costs, likely to include modest head count, says Dan Collins, VP of Corporate Communications.
The only reason why these cuts are happening is because of this super awesome economic recovery we are in.
Corning needs to begin mfg. in the U.S. again. Their offshore mfg. products are not the quality that their products used to be.
I agree.
lets see...Corning plants in China -- and not the US!! /s
“Corning” to me means the cookware company whose glass pots permit another glass pot to be burned within it. Are we talking about the same Corning?
