A CNN critique published Wednesday about GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romneys assertions on Operation Fast and Furious in the last presidential debate being imprecise is not only guilty of the same charge as well, but demonstrably wrong in places, with corrections provided to them ignored and suppressed by the news websites comment moderators.
Taking issue with Romneys response that the gunwalking scheme had been investigated to a degree, CNNs Terry Frieden concluded that appeared to shortchange the 471-page report by the Justice Department inspector general last month
It also suggested Romney gave an incomplete to the extensive series of Republican-led congressional hearings on Fast and Furious," Frieden wrote.
While its true that Inspector General Michael Horowitz was complimented on his efforts and that the hearing where he was questioned about the report was essentially cordial, Frieden withholds from readers that House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa issued a statement regarding the report citing not only numerous failures within the Justice Department, but by Attorney General Eric Holder, with a call for President Obama to step in and provide accountability, and then went on to advise the Inspector General has indicated he will continue his investigation of matters related to Operation Fast and Furious, including retaliation against whistleblowers and an effort to have the Justice Department unseal wiretap applications sealed by courts that were approved by senior officials. The Congressional investigation will also continue to seek documents wrongfully withheld from Congress.
Frieden also somehow fails to mention the White House refusing to cooperate with the inspector General, along with the refusal of key figures to cooperate or speak with OIG investigators.

Good news abot CNN...it’s only on in doctors’ and car dealers waiting rooms.
Like TIME and the late NEWSWEAK, nobody cares anymore.
What’s a CNN?
Gunwalker / Murdergate ping.
primarily interested in insureing that their candidate wins. The problem is getting this information to most people. That is the job of the new media.
I was talking with a couple of coworkers last week that are both very anti Obama. I was surprised to find out that neither of them were familiar with fast and furious. I gave them a quick summary. It’s amazing how little traction this scandal has gotten.
They have always been able to rely on their friends and allies in the MSM to protect them before. Why should they think it would be any different this time?
Q. terry frieden, candy crowley. What’s the difference?
A. candy crowley is fatter.
Codrea Ping.
Melson retired and some underling "resigned." It is OVER! The House Committee on Hindsight and Government Expansion members got their face-time, so they "Did their job." F&F will be consigned to the trash heap next to Able Danger.
A CNN critique published Wednesday about GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romneys assertions on Operation Fast and Furious in the last presidential debate being imprecise.Well .. they're sort of 'right', but for the wrong thing regarding Fast & Furious. When Romney said 'Automatic weapons were illegal', I literally cringed.
I'm pretty sure everyone would stipulate that Mitt is not exactly a firearm expert or some 'rabid collector'(snix). But after all these years of getting ready to run for POTUS that he'd know that possession/ownership of certain Class III (aka; automatic) weapons are legal under Federal Law.
Especially after being governor of Massachusetts and signing into law some sort of 'Assault Weapon Ban', and that the legality of Class III weapons is left to the individual states. Which in Massachusetts I'm sure they are not - like here in Illinois(1).
(1) This may be a shock to some but until the latter 1970's - early 1980's Class III Weapons were legal in the now gun unfriendly, Illinois. I toyed with the thought of getting one but my 'disposable income' went into photography back then.
Arghhhhhhhhh. LOL
