CALLER: I just want to throw this out. I expect Obama to try to pull something, and I want to know: Is he gonna try to pull something like foreign policy-wise before the debate on Monday, like a possible attack on Iran?
RUSH: People have been thinking he would do something like that sometime this month. That would appear very suspicious, timing-wise. With this guy, anything's possible, but the way I'm looking at it honestly here, Doug, I don't think he's gonna have to. In his mind, just get together with Bob Schieffer before the debate like he did Candy Crowley.
Say, "Look, when this comes up, you just go there, and we'll handle it that way." Well, folks... (interruption) No, I'm not alleging anything. I watched that debate again, and Romney goes on and says, "Mr. President, we have to get this on the record: You called it a terrorist attack the day after?" and Obama said (impression), "Proceed, Governor Romney. Just proceed." So Romney said, "Okay, we have it on record. The president of the United States said blah, blah, blah."
And then Obama points and says to Candy Crowley, "Get the transcript," and she just happens to have it!
And then she just happens to read from it. And then she just happens to say, "Mr. Romney, you're wrong. He did call it a terrorist attack." Now, I am not alleging anything, but I just want to ask you: If during any debate that you have done seen, if any of the combatants had said to the moderator, "Get the transcript," and the transcript specifically asked for was produced and read from by the moderator, what do you think reaction would be?
Now, people call here all the time. It doesn't happen much anymore, but they will challenge and I've always said, "Go get the tape. Look at the transcript." It's a generic thing people say. And this looked generic, but he did point, and he looked at Crowley and he said, "Get the transcript. Get the transcript." And she had it. Pascal: "It's much easier to believe that something that has happened can happen again."
So,a little powwow with Bob Schieffer?

It's October and you're rooting for a liberal, socialist, statist to win: surprise!
Romney and his surrogates should be out there every single day talking about the coming BO October surprise.
They need to joke about it, ask people what do they expect it to be. Keep the idea in the news that it is coming. Discredit it ahead of time. So when it comes, people will disregard it.
I know... he’ll stage a false riot in the ME where some of our people will be taken hostage - then he’ll negotiate their release.
I sure hope no SEALS are unexpectedly there to mess up the plan.

Too late in October for there to be an October surprise. I have no doubt, however, that there will be a trumped up “Bush DUI” or Anita Hill type story coming soon.
I like the idea. Unfortunately, for some reason, the Pubbies never attack the Left’s methods, scare tactics, etc.
I am soooooo happy to see Rush finally pick up on this. Been sending him emails about it every day since the debate ended. Lots of FReepers posts were sent to him about this very thing. Thanks Rush for finally detailing it like we have already been doing it on Free Republic.
One of my lib friends on Facebook trotted out a story from The Examiner, based on a Boston Globe story, about a head-on collision in which Romney was involved when he was a missionary in France (1968). Supposedly, the priest driving the car that hit Romney’s car was drunk. One of Romney’s passengers died in the wreck. Romney was in a coma, but came out of it with a broken arm, lacerations, and I can’t remember what else. The tone of the Examiner article read something like, “How do we know that Mitt Romney was not driving drunk? No toxicology or sobriety tests were done. The French police dispose of their records after 10 years. The only people who are still alive who could tell us have all been Romney’s friends for over 40 years [so of course, we can’t trust anything THEY say]”.
So I answered her: 1) Romney is a Mormon. Mormons don’t drink alcoholic beverages. 2) One of the passengers in his car was the President of the French Mormon mission. He’s a 21yo kid, looking to make an impression. Do you think he would be drunk in her presence? 3)All we have is conjecture and speculation. Stick a fork in it.
Axelrod & Co. will concoct something as late as Sunday before the election, I’d bet on it sooner than on the landslide perdicted by silly FR optimists!
Someone already suggested here on the web that maybe that was what Libya was all about?

The finger pointing indicates to me he knew she had the transcript. Also indicative is his comment to Romney to proceed. Through the last two debates Obama (and the moderator) have constantly interrupted Romney when he is about to score points. He tells Romney to proceed like he knows Romney is walking into a trap. In addition, Obama’s body language through the whole exchange indicates something was up. He can barely contain himself. He gets very animated (almost giddy).
