I have had a website for the past 12 years. A nice website that needs a revamping. I plan on firing her up and having fun next quarter.

I found a nice local guy who can revamp it onto a wordpress softwear package and he had some nice ideas to add to the design. Price of the revamp is resonalbe I think, in the 3K range but I do have to move to his host site. and I will be moving the content over onto wordpress once the skeleton is in place. It includes the training. I have about 150 pages.

I have a logo. It isnt very clear. The tech says he needs the original which was a 8x10 ssilhouette of me that was shrunk down to logo size (I was so cute!) He says I need to come up with the silhouette in order to upgrade it, it is a little murky. I have not been able to find the silhouette original. Is there a way that the current silhouette can be enhanced?

Google analyticals are good if you don’t mind Google getting information about you which they then do whatever with.

How much does the guy want to host your site? Key consideration. Why must hosting be part of the deal? Why does “revamping your website” have to include “host your site on my server?”

“Enhancing” your logo without the original image is going to be tough.

I would have to see it but it sounds like an old photo, correct? If it’s just a shadowed silhouette, you could use the low quality version as a template and redraw in a vector format or bring into Photoshop and basicaly redraw a better quality, larger version with some effects.

But really, it depends on what you mean by silhouette. When I think silhouette, I think black against white type image.

I think that he probably makes some monies out of the hosting and he is on call and will do minor work and fixes on the site that he hosts.

Not “his” server, but the server he is contracted with.

Google Analytics is tracking you right now. Here on FR, now. For some reason, Jim is OK with this.

$3K is a bit much if he’s just creating a Wordpress template and you do the loading. Wordpress is available for free, and comes pre-installed on many hosting sites, including GoDaddy. Many templates available for free.

You can vectorize an image at VectorMagic. You get to do two free, then you have to pay. It's $7.95/mo, three months minimum, all-you-can-eat. At least that's what it was last time I checked.

Laz is a world-class web designer is why. He’s a bit off, but so are all artists.

OK, so how much?

The service I've been with for several years has a "personal plan" for $10/month. I say that by way of a point of reference.

Yeah, that's why it's "tough." It's hard to replace information once it's gone.

Could you just draw it yourself? I use MS Paint for all kinds of drawing stuff. Maybe you can do it from memory.
