Libertarian vote more likely to go towards Obama. Gary Johnson favors legalization of weed. The reason why Obama is having to spend money in Oregon is because they fear Johnson will cut heavily into the pro-pot crowd.

Yes, could.

But, if Romney plays this right, many of the votes currently slated for Johnson will shift to him (Romney) by election day. I think of this as a source of secret strength for Romney. Also, the undecideds.

Don’t rule out the possibility that we carry New Mexico, and pull out the Senate seat. In both cases, the polls are being affected by strong third-party or independent candidates.

When Paul Ryan was in Colorado, he indicated Romney would support federal respect for state laws concerning marijuana.

Not a bad stance. I would rather support someone who has an honest stance about keeping weed illegal than some guy who acts like he will legalize it, then backstab by a raise in drug busts. In case I wasn’t clear, Obama was the latter.

My feelings about weed are this: people should be held responsible for the effects on health and performance of smoking weed. Employers should have every right to make weed and other drugs liabilities in the workplace, but honestly, don’t bother hunting down every last weed dealer in town, weed is way too easy to make, and honestly nowhere near as deadly as cocaine and heroin.

The totalitarian Democrats are strange on this one, advocating government regulation of sugar, and saying they’d be o.k. with de-regulating weed (yet using the IRS to crack down on shops complying with state laws).

Being right-of-center, we see a role for government in establishing age restrictions on legal purchases, licensing and inspecting shops, excise taxes and the like. Also, for preventing illegal sales, especially to minors. For keeping public places free of second-hand smoke (of whatever kind). And, for investigating into families when there is reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect with regard to substance us by the guardians. We don’t give up our concerns for prudence because we respect privacy and/or simply see that the war on drugs has failed.

I bet all the red Bush 2004 states will turn to Romney, and also the light blue ones. R&R have got their base locked down and the independents were fleeing to them, even before the debates. This will accelerate because indies were just waiting for an excuse to vote against Obama (and vote Romney) and now the first debate gave them their reasons.
