Thanks for posting this. It made me remember a point I tried to make on the live debate thread, but couldn’t because FR was super slow. When Obama talked about the Cleveland Clinic and why it works, he said that doctors are evaluated on performance and aren’t paid by the number of procedures they perform. Obama really seemed to support that. His comment brought me to attention, because Obama and the Dems have historically been against performance evaluations for teachers. So why is it okay for doctors to have to undergo evaluations, but not teachers?

One byproduct of Death Care is that it will stymie research and development. Cleveland Clinic and other pre-eminent facilities will be screwed. And of course, so will patients. Little, if any, potentially life-saving research.

Sorry. The Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit organization owned and operated by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. It was founded as a group practice by four doctors after WW-I but they are long gone and so is the privately owned entity. It might be true to say that it couldn't be founded under obamacare the way it was in 1921, but then, so what.

Section 6001 of the health care law effectively bans new physician-owned hospitals (POHs) from starting up, and it keeps existing ones from expanding So you lose your civil rights because you went to medical school?
You're punished for achieving?
Who's allowed to own a hospital? Sub-literate illegal aliens?
They appear to have far more rights then the best Americans.

Does Mayo Brothers Clinic in Minnesota come under the same definition?
