Plouffe: We expected aggressive Mitt, not 'fundamentally dishonest' Mitt

Top aide David Plouffe suggested on Thursday that Team Obama was caught off guard by the "remarkable" level of "dishonesty" displayed by Mitt Romney during the debate.

~~SNIP~~

"Going forward, one of the things we're going to have to address is that dishonesty," Plouffe said. "It's hard to remember a time in American politics where you had someone who's a major nominee for the presidency being that fundamentally dishonest about core parts of his campaign platform."

Regardless of the complaints from plufay, the resuscitation is in the works now at SNL. No doubt at this moment, they are crafting a Romney as an angry version of Lovitz’s pathological liar (that’s the ticket). The alinsky methodology of mocking your enemy is where they are hoping to administer CPR.

Yes. I just hope Romney and team can find a way for him to walk the fine line he has to walk between not letting attacks go unchallenged and not appearing too harsh. The media leaves him little room that they can’t and won’t spin for Obozo. That’s why he gets paid the big bucks though :D

The approach they will take is, when a Repub states a fact that they don't like, they will say "he's being dishonest", without saying what they think the real facts are.

The Dems can't afford to openly state their version of the facts, because then they are subject to fact-checking in an environment where they no longer control all the media.

Let them try it. They will come off looking like this Monty Python sketch...

obama had plenty of chances to rebut Romney during the debate — he didn’t do it because:
1) he realized early on that Romney had his facts together and wasn’t backing down,
2) the one who feeds obama’s brain and gives him smirky overconfidence was missing (that would be the TOTUS).

I remember the last time — it was 4 years ago. And he’s doing it again.

One can say anything if one throws a "fundamentally" or a "remarkable" in there.

Set up a rhythm and a verbal density and people just nod and don't think about what one is actually actually saying.

His name sounds like a descriptor of the sound a f@rt makes when one has eaten a few two many been burritos.

And the stuff that comes out of his mouth completes the image......

Hello, Mr. Pfluffle, it was a debate; if Mr. Romney said anything that was untrue it was up to Obama to refute it then and there. Instead he stood by in a daze while Romney told the country flatly that Obama was going to cut $700billion from Medicare, didn’t even know the law regarding shipping jobs overseas, and was telling untruths about Romney’s tax plans - and O said nothing.......

So true. He wasn’t debating “ Gentleman Johnny”....

Mitt is now set to use his own version of “ there you go again”

I hope we hear some form of that in the next debate.

If the republican is lying so brazenly in debate I expect the democrat to call them on it and demand they explain themselves immediately.

Mitt in effect called him a liar with the “ sons analogy”. That fried Obies
ego.

He also let him know, I won’t stand by and smile like Johnny Mac, when you misrepresent my position.

I think Mitt will keep up his approach, and now that he has had real success with it , and Obie, et al , are openly calling him a lier he can , in his way, point out
all the unfulfilled promises ( lies) O used to get elected.....
