Barack Obama has been savaged over his performance in last night's presidential debate, with one commentator even suggesting that he was less effective than the hapless Jimmy Carter.
Even those who have been the President's most enthusiastic cheerleaders in the past lined up to denounce the evening as a 'disaster' for Mr Obama, and worried that Mitt Romney's resounding win would allow him to turn around his struggling campaign.
Prominent Obama fans denounced the President as 'off his game', saying the debate was 'a disaster' for the Democrats - and one even said, 'I don't know what he was doing out there.'
But perhaps the most stinging blow came from the Right, with one conservative commentator quipping: 'Not since Jimmy Carter faced Ronald Reagan has the U.S. presidency been so embarrassingly represented in public. Actually, that’s an insult to Jimmy Carter.'
Mr Romney was on the offensive during the debate in Denver, shining in what was arguably the most high-profile moment of his political career so far.
.......Andrew Sullivan, a respected centrist who is a strong supporter of the President, criticised Mr Obama's 'meandering, weak, professorial arguments' on the Daily Beast.
He added: 'This was a disaster for the President for the key people he needs to reach, and his effete, wonkish lectures may have jolted a lot of independents into giving Romney a second look.
'Obama looked tired, even bored; he kept looking down; he had no crisp statements of passion or argument; he wasn't there.'
In a crushing verdict on the President's 'terrible' performance, Mr Sullivan concluded: 'He choked. He lost. He may even have lost the election tonight.'....

I know. I stopped reading right there. Anybody that can type that with a straight face is seriously deluded or still hungover from their debate drinking game.

This was a formal debate with a 30+ point IQ differential between the participants, what the hell did anybody expect??

When has this twit ever had to engage in a real debate?
All of his elections from the start were handed to him by the help of crooked judges and biased media.
He ran on no record each time, and always relied on teleprompters to speak.
No he has a record and had no protection, and people now saw what a tool he really is.
No teleprompter - without someone/thing telling him what to say, ‘bammers comes off as a bumbling fool.
Obama is a manufactured fraud. Only a tired old fool like McCain could lose a debate to Obama. A high school kid could beat him.
Surely Baraq’s photo must appear next to “empty suit” in the dictionary of phrases....
Really it is only the second worst, and for people who remember the worst, this debate should not have surprised. The worst was a press conference when Obama invited Bill Clinton to talk with him, and Clinton completely took over the meeting, ignored Obama, and the press started treating Clinton like he was still president. Obama tried to get control, but could not, and finally walked out of the press conference. Last night was the same thing. If he could have walked out of the debate, he would have.
If Obama doesn’t have a scripted venue, with a teleprompter, he is laughably incompetent.

Maybe the most damning words came from Bill Maher......BILL MAHER!!!!!!........who tweeted that actually he never thought he would ever say the words, but maybe Obama can only function w/ a teleprompter because he certainly couldn’t function last night.
When Bill Maher says that, well. I am not a Bill Maher fan, but he called it perfectly.

The only thing centerist about Andrew Sullivan is that his sewage discharge pipe (which he mistakes for an entrance orifice) is perhaps somewhat centered between his butt cheeks.
