SIERRA VISTA — The U.S. Border Patrol agent wounded in the shooting that resulted in the death of another agent yesterday morning has been released from the hospital, the agency announced this morning.
The injured agent was airlifted to a Tucson hospital from the scene, about seven miles east of Bisbee and five miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, after he and two other agents were shot at by unknown assailants.
Agent Nicolas Ivie, 30, was killed in the attack.
The third agent was not injured during the incident, which occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the agents from the Brian Terry Station in Naco went to the area to investigate a ground sensor alert.
Ivie was a native of Provo, Utah and joined the U.S. Border Patrol in Jan. 2008.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office are each conducting an investigation into the incident.
No additional information on the ongoing investigation was immediately available Wednesday morning.

Procession for slain BP agent to halt traffic
SIERRA VISTA — Traffic along Highway 90 in Sierra Vista will be momentarily disrupted this afternoon as the body of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Ivie is transported to a local funeral home. A procession of law enforcement vehicles will travel down the highway into town past the East Gate of Fort Huachuca and onto the Highway 90 Bypass before continuing on through the intersection with Fry Boulevard and south onto Highway 92 toward the Hatfield Funeral Home, said Cpl. Scott Borgstadt of the Sierra Vista Police Department. Ivie, 30, was killed early Tuesday morning when he and two other Border Patrol agents were shot at by unknown assailants near the U.S.-Mexico border. Traffic at intersections along the route will be temporarily halted. The exact time when the procession will enter the area is unknown, but Borgstadt said it may occur between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.

This Saturday, 10-6-12, there will be a rally near the Brian Terry Station at 11:30 a.m. to voice our concern regarding the murder of Nick Ivie. Nick was a Border Patrol agent shot early this morning while investigating a sensor detonation. Nick was on horseback. One other agent was shot and will recover and a third thankfully was not hit.

Over the course of the past eight years those of us who have fought for border security have had our ups and downs.
Today is another day of shame for Homeland Security as we now have the murder of one more Border Patrol agent.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
I am asking everyone who can possibly make it to come to a protest rally at the Brian Terry Station in Naco AZ this Saturday @ 11:00 a.m. Bring your flags, bring your hearts and bring your rightful indignation!
Al Garza will lead the event. Al has worked tirelessly on border issues from the beginning. Al graciously accepted and has already done a lot of work to pull this together. I will be coming and will speak at the rally. John Ladd, a local rancher will also be speaking and Pamela Barrett will give the invocation and closing. We will be honoring Agent Terry, Agent Ivie and Sheriff Dever.
The demonstration will be peaceful and orderly but we will again be visible and perhaps noisy.
Understand our government is more respectful to illegal aliens than it is to United States Citizens and we will no longer stand by in political correctness and watch our Republic and our Constitution trampled on by an open border that not one politician has yet stood tall to protect our rights under the law.
Please do your part to help save our country and the lives of future American’s who live on the border.
