FREDERICKSBURG — A 92 percent drop in absentee-ballot requests by military personnel in Virginia is raising concerns that the Pentagon is failing to carry out a federal voting law.
With only 1,746 military voters in Virginia requesting absentee ballots so far this year — out of 126,251 service members in the state —the Military Voter Protection Project says the system has broken down
And it’s not just in the Old Dominion. MVPP Executive Director Eric Eversole reports significant declines in absentee-ballot requests by service members across the nation.

I wrote to my congresscritter about the military ballots-his response:
snip-”While many of the provisions of the MOVE Act have enabled greater voting access for members of our Armed Forces and their families, I am dissatisfied with the state of service member enfranchisement. For this reason, I joined several of my colleagues in the Senate in sending a letter, dated September 7, 2012, to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta asking him to detail the actions he intends to take to guarantee that our military members and their families receive the voter assistance they need in order to fully participate in the democratic process this November.”
Yeah...those strongly worded letters really go a long way, especially with the man who intends to GUT our military.

I was a voting officer in several squadrons while on active duty for several years. 100% of the members of my squadrons voted absentee. If this is happening then the voting officers are not being forwarded the appropriate materials and/or are being prevented from doing their duty. This must come from above if it is true.

Gen. Dempsey is the head of the JCS. He’s an emasculated, feminized PC asshole and is responsible for the deaths of many of our soldiers in Afghanistan.
Hopefully, with a new administration, there is a court martial awaiting this POS.
Rush Limbaugh needs to discuss this on his show. And he needs to encourage active duty military (as many of you know he has a very wide audience in the armed forces) to SUBMIT THEIR REQUEST FOR THEIR ABSENTEE BALLOT NOW—without delay. Rush needs to do this during the hour of his three hour show that is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio.

I’m hoping the Military family of soldiers over seas will stand in proxy for their loved ones and make a statement by VOTING in their place along with their own self vote!! HELL if mike mouse and Donald duck can vote and their votes count, so should military stand ins. THE HELL WITH the RAT obstruction of our military folk!!
Or, are the requests filled out and just being “misplaced” at some point? Certainly an investigation is merited.
Of note is that absentee ballot requests cover multiple elections and don’t have to be filled out every yr, at least, not in FL.
