In an abrupt announcement that caught state and local business officials off guard, cable giant Comcast announced Tuesday that it's closing all of its California call centers, including one in Natomas that employs about 300 workers.
Why? That's the tricky question.
Earlier in the day, citing the state's "high cost of doing business," a regional Comcast official said the company's Natomas, Livermore and Morgan Hill call centers will be shuttered on Nov. 30. Overall, about 1,000 jobs will be relocated to existing centers in Portland, Seattle and Denver.
But hours later, after state Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, and the Governor's Office interceded, Comcast backtracked, saying its initial reasons were "incorrect."

Translation: There was a fair amount of arm-twisting going on to get Comcast to backtrack on their first statement. The revised statement was ‘unsigned’. LOL! (Actually this stuff is quite serious...)
Obviously Comcast was jacked up against the wall for telling the truth. The Leftist California Government undoubtedly forced them to lie about the reason they will shutter those offices with some coercement I’m certain. It’s the Democrat way.
Just yesterday, Campbell’s soup announced the closing of a 700 employee plant in Sacramento. CA businesses have finally had enough.
California has been making war against entry level type jobs for decades. Then they wonder how it is they have 30% of America’s welfare recipients.
Holy cow!!
“”It is unfortunate that Comcast’s announcement to eliminate jobs in California inaccurately placed blame on the state, but I am pleased to see the executives at Comcast taking responsibility and correcting the statement,” said Mike Rossi, the governor’s senior adviser for jobs and business development, in a statement.”
Are we in time-warp Germany?
wow...just wow...I am sitting here stunned. wow....
I’m about to cancel my internet service with them. Every time I go to check my email I have to look at pop ups of Obama and Michelle. They have a constant pop up ad which takes up the entire right side bar. Of course all I got was a stupid form email in response to my complaint.
Impossible to do business in that state.
Don't they realize that they are voting to destroy their way of life? At some point, things are going to get so bad in California that all these companies are going to have to pull up stakes and find somewhere else to operate their businesses.
” Are we in time-warp Germany?”
Democrat run California. Same thing.
Erm, Apple recently had to build a data center. They could have built it in California.
They built it in North Carolina.
Apple has just chosen to expand some of their US operations. They could have built in California.
They’re going with Denver or Austin.
Apple is apparently even rethinking their new ‘mothership’ campus project now...
They threatened Comcast with gummint regulations so Comcast said OK, it's really, really easy and inexpensive to do bidness here in kalifornicator, but we are still leaving.
The only thing that will stop kalifornicator from bankruptcy is a 9.9 quake up the San Andreas Fault and the whole state floats into china.
ComCast’s dealing with them just further legitimizes an illegitimate government
The cure for overpopulation is to shed population.
California population is greater than a sustainable level.
Creating conditions that make business operation unprofitable are the primary method to depopulate.
Need a laundry list of companies that have left California since 2008.
They are leaving...why the heck should they care that it makes the leftist fascists look bad?
They’ve all gone through the leftist indoctrination of higher ed. The most important things in the world to them are gay marriage, abortion, and free contraception. They know nothing else of how the world works.
Comcast is an American enemy. They are at the vanguard of the Obama propaganda effort. Sadly, there is often no viable alternative to their monopoly.
Comcast must be brought to their knees for America to right its self
