Authorities believe a man accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old child may have more victims.
Brownsville police arrested 54-year-old Antonio Garcia Garza late Wednesday morning.
Investigators said Garza is accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old child back in August 11th.
Details were not released but police said detectives are working with the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Child Exploitation Unit to investigate the case.
Garza appeared before a Brownsville municipal judge on Thursday morning where he was issued a $250,000 dollar bond.
ICE agents also filed an immigration detainer against Garza.

While I don’t personally observe Mexican illegals to be bad characters (I mostly see them working at restaurants) the fact is our jails are full of them. “Illegal” is not an acceptable form of immigration, there is zero selection process, so naturally you will get scum like this preying on the children.
16 year old CHILD you say?
CHILD sex charges you say?
CHILD abuse you say?
The age of consent in Texas is 17, so this is a crime in Texas. It is not a crime in Georgia, where Rob Lowe was. We have these things called states here, which have their own laws.

wrong is wrong, I could not care less if its legal
That was my reaction, too. That we treat 16 year olds like children (heck, we treat 26 year olds like children) is a problem.
That is not to be taken as approval for fifty-year olds to take advantage of young people, but to call the alleged victim a "child" is P.C. overkill.
I think she should go turn herself in.
Remember, if he was a Muslim, it’s okay.
Exactly. Whatever a 16-year-old is (and I speak as the father of a female of that species), it is NOT a “child.” It may not even be human. It MAY not even be a mammal ...
My great-grandfather married my great-grandmother in Oklahoma when she was 13 and he was 32.
They migrated to New Mexico and she had 3 children by the time she was 16.
Since they passed through Texas on the way to New Mexico, I guess he would be a sexual predator if he were alive today - then you have that interstate transportation thing as a sentencing enhancement.
If its not a child then it can move out and support itself
As long as you no longer have to support them after they are 16, then they aren’t children.
I still think "young man" better fits a 16 year old than "child."
