This could have been avoided if the idiot in Lansing hadn't vetoed the bill in the first place.

Interesting that the most immigrant heavy counties are the ones who want the citizenship check box removed.

So non citizens can vote.
That has to include non residents too.
Please send me a registration for your state, so I can cast a ballot, too.

Void all the applications that have been defaced in this manner. If you are a legal citizen you should not have a problem stating so on the form. It’s simply stating a fact. I don’t know why people have such a problem with this (actually I do know, but I’m just being dramatic).

So the Sec of State should state that the votes will not be counted for statewide or national results. Problem solved.

Simple solution: Impound all the votes from the offending precincts and refuse to add them to the statewide totals until the authenticity of each can be verified.
I know it will never happen, but it is what should happen.
When the residents whine about being "disenfranchised" just tell them that since they want to make their own rules, the effect of those rules need to be limited to the areas which make them. That also goes for allowing thugs with nightsticks to patrol polling places in order to discourage voting by people of the wrong color.

Probably ~ I just bet Michigan, like every other state in the Midwest, has a "no stray marks" clause when it comes to paper ballots.
If so you can challenge such ballots at the time they are counted. The clerk's stray mark would undoubtedly count.

Defaced ballots and/or voter registration are invalid. I’m sure the Republicrats will jump all over this.

Having traveled,in my day, through Detroit *and* a number of Third World countries I'm embarrassed to admit that it's been tough for me to tell the difference. So just as I wouldn't be surprised to see a story like this coming from Tanzania I'm not surprised to see this one coming from Detroit.

The state of Michigan should award its electors by the district method (each Congressional District elects 1 Elector and 2 are awarded to the winner of the statewide vote). This would minimize the impact of Detroit shenanigans on the vote of the state.

My Macomb County Clerk, Carmela Sabaugh, Democrat, has announced she will not issue the new ballot applications with the boxes on them........
Here in Macomb County, this is nothing more than partisan politics on her part.
