If this is the incident I think it is I agree. The kids were not a threat, they were just sitting there. The cop went down the line like he was spray painting a fence.
Yep. The kids were just sitting there. If the cops wanted to move them, just grab 'em and drag 'em. Whether you agree with the protesters' politics or not, the use of pepper spray was a complete over-reaction. Just like clubs would have been.
The kids were absolutely no threat to anyone, and they were not felons fleeing a scene. They were just sitting there. Grab 'em and drag 'em. Nothing more unless they started to violently resist.
I have always tended to support cops, but in this case I think the spray was uncalled for. The videos show a calm protest, even after they were sprayed.The cops and uni should be thankful that this wasn’t a different “crowd”. I could imagine riots with fires and whatnot.
