Nobody in the US slandered Muslims prior to their attacks on our interests any more than the Brits and citizens of other Allied countries slandered Germans prior to the World Wars. What leftists in general and black people in particular fail to understand is that Americans are incredibly tolerant of people who carry their own weight and don’t inappropriately impose their will on others. The Marxist gets it all wrong by implying our resentment begins in a vacuum.
Some differences can't be reconciled. They can only be tolerated with a live and let live philosophy. And that is the philosophy most Americans have always followed. But pretending that such differences can be a strength is a lot of fanciful nonsense, and can be dangerous.

There are certainly problems with Obama's statement, but that it implies the future doesn't belong to Christians is not one of them.

As far as I know, the Islamic religion does NOT claim that Mohammad was a deity or holy or anything any more than the prophets God sent to pave the way for Jesus.
Jesus can take care of himself, because our God is true; the only thing we need protection against is having the government slander or attack Christianity or Christians. Jesus knew perfectly well that people would attack: rejoice when men say all manner of evil against you for My sake, for great is your reward in Heaven.
Mohammed, on the other hand, is the false prophet of a false god, and therefore even discussing him is forbidden, let alone “slandering” him.
I hope people don’t get suckered into thinking that we need laws against the “slander” or criticism of religions, including Christianity. For one thing, any fool knows that the only religion that will really be “protected” is Islam.
But we’ve done just fine here in the US for centuries now, with people free to say whatever they want about Jesus Christ - and Christians are very strong here as a result. The only thing we don’t want is government interference, and if Christians don’t recognize this type of law as the first step in that direction, they’re deluding themselves.
