There are plenty of big bellies at the NYC high school where I am. It's fine with their parents, in a culture where several generations of family live together. The boyfriend will go live there, too, and all will enjoy food stamps, free health care, etc.
This is how it was explained to me by a beaming guidance counselor as she praised "what a great mom" the latest 16 year old is proving to be, on a recent visit she made to the school to show off her newborn baby.
