[Chancellor Jimmy] Cheek cited a court ruling from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals that specifically held that nonsectarian prayer at public university events does not violate the First Amendment. And furthermore, Cheek said prayers will also be welcomed at other university events outside the confines of the football stadium.Good on 'em. Everyone should treat the "Freedom From Religion Foundation" nutjobs with the same contempt. Stop caving in. Ignore their letters, whiz on their lawsuits.
Make them call out the National Guard to stop a prayer at a UT football game (/s).

Finally. An educational institution that decides to stand up and say "Heck no" to the secularists.
When youre not religious or are of another faith and you get prayed at during events, its really very grating.
Um, pardon me Annie...what the heck is that supposed to mean? "Get prayed at"????? Is that some sort of new hate crime? And here I thought that prayers were directed towards the Almighty.

The Vols came up to play BC a while back. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met at a football game.

Good on 'em. Everyone should treat the "Freedom From Religion Foundation" nutjobs with the same contempt. Stop caving in. Ignore their letters, whiz on their lawsuits. Exactly...I was listening to a pastor the other day who said he was 'offended by NOT being able to pray at sporting events', and he advised the same course of action that you stated in your post. Tell the left to 'stick it where the sun doesn't shine'...

I can’t remember which writer it was ... maybe David Goldberg, “Spengler” ... who observed that one of the problems with modern America is that we treat crazy people much too politely, thus encouraging to continue crazy behavior.

From the article: When youre not religious or are of another faith and you get prayed at during events, its really very grating.
What about when you’re not a left-wing, anti-American, commie POS and you continually get commied on by your commie professors?

As a Christian mizzz Galor I’m offended that my tax dollars are subsidizing abortions against my beliefs. At least prayers at sporting events don’t cost anyone a dime.
Godless leftists have plenty of time in eternity for no prayers.... Yikes..

Banning prayers is anti-Religion, and thus illegal in a Nation that was founded on Freedom of Religion. DUH!
BTW, Liberal Agenda Media, which part of the word “Freedom” do you not understand?

...so what happened to the leftist/communist ‘anti-bullying’ movement in this country? “Freedom From Religion Foundation” certainly fills the bill when it comes to ‘bullying’...stinking hypocrites.

I'm so happy to read this. When I first heard about it I thought the university was sure to give in and change to a moment of silence instead of a prayer.
You Florida fans can be proud of Jimmy Cheek. UT hired him away from you.
