White House considers compassionate release for the Blind Sheikh
The Obama administration is reportedly in talks with Egypt’s government to transfer convicted terrorist Omar Abdel Rahman back to his home country. This would be a major foreign-policy blunder and an insult to the counterterrorism professionals who put the terror leader behind bars.
Rahman, known as the “Blind Sheikh,” was the leader of the terrorist group Al-Gama’a al-Islamiya, which conducted a series of attacks in Egypt in the early 1990s. Rahman was in exile in New York at the time, preaching at mosques, fundraising, building a radical following and conspiring to create mayhem in America. Rahman and nine of his acolytes were arrested after the February 1993 World Trade Center bombing. In 1996, he was sentenced to life in prison for his part in the plot.
Securing Rahman’s freedom is a cause celebre among Islamists. The “Abdel Rahman Brigades” have mounted a series of attacks in his name in Libya and may have motivated the Sept. 11 murder of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. The Blind Shiekh’s family organized the demonstration outside the U.S. embassy in Cairo on the same day during which a mob breached the embassy perimeter, tore down the American flag and raised the black banner of jihad. The pre-planned event was billed as, “The real terrorist — America or Omar Abdel Rahman?” Rahman’s son Abdullah said that sheikh’s return would be “the start of real reconciliation” between the United States and Egypt, and the family is confident Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi will keep his campaign promise of working to secure the sheikh’s release. The issue is expected to come up when Mr. Morsi meets with President Obama next week in New York.

Ringleader implies planning, and the Hussein regime said it wasnt planned, It was just spontaneity that US Missions in Bhenghazi, Sudan, Tunis, Cairo and Yemen attacked on the anniversary of 9-11, that was not directed at Americans, and it was the fault of a video, anyway. SURELY they are not actually entertaining this notion! I just don’t think so, even if they are stupid enough to want to read Miranda rights to Afghan combatants on the battlefield and try them in downtown NYC, and then later wanting (and getting) the right to indefinitely detain American citizens without trial....well, on second thought....maybe they are entertaining this notion.
In May 1998, Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman issued a fatwa calling for attacks on America “Extract the most violent revenge… Cut off all relations with [the Americans, Christians, and Jews], tear them to pieces, destroy their economies, burn their corporations, destroy their peace, sink their ships, shoot down their planes, and kill them on air, sea, and land. And kill them wherever you may find them, ambush them, take them hostage, and destroy their observatories. Kill these infidels.”
This fatwa is what authorized Al Qaeda to attack America. Bin Laden was not a religious leader, but merely a political and military one and his fatwa was seen as meaningless, if not completely illegitimate. A fatwa comming from a graduate of Al Azar University was another matter.
Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman is the legitimatizer of to both attacks on the World Trade Center and every Al Qaeda attack on America, as well as those from many other Muslim Brotherhood groups. Released? He should be hanged from a noose made of pig sinew.

But what’s to stop “His Highness” afterwards? He’s got nothing to lose. Recall that Klintoon pardoned terrorists on his way out.
