Will Chick-fil-A stop funding anti-gay groups?
Salon ^ | September 19, 2012 | Prachi Gupta

Posted on 09/19/2012 4:22:54 PM PDT by Livin_large

In a letter addressed to Alderman Moreno and signed by Chick-fil-A’s Senior Director of Real Estate, it states, “The WinShape Foundations is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas.” Winshape, a non-profit funded by Chick-fil-a, has donated millions of dollars to anti-LGBT groups, including some classified as hate groups, such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage. In meetings the company executives clarified that they will no longer give to anti-gay organizations.

But WinShape didn’t release the same comment to BuzzFeed. In fact, they refused to say anything conclusive, and seemed to lack self-awareness about having an anti-gay stance:

“We have no agenda, policy or position against anyone. We have a 65-year history of providing hospitality for all people and, as a dedicated family business, serving and valuing everyone regardless of their beliefs or opinions,” he said in a general press statement emailed to BuzzFeed by another Chick-fil-A spokesman, Jerry Johnston, who said the company’s press statement is not new. “The genuine, historical intent of our WinShape Foundation and corporate giving has been to support youth, family and educational programs.”

This? This is what the gay mafia is using as “proof” that Chick-fil-A has caved in to the pro-gay demands?

What a joke.

They would be stupid to cave, given the support they have gained for standing tall.

If management suddenly went nuts. Didn't Starbucks try a day to cater to the other side? I missed the result in the news.

It sounds like the same position they've taken all along to me.

I'm of the opinion that this company, that has withstood so much criticism from the “progressive community,” for decades, regarding their fairly overt Christian business philosophy, isn't going to now alter course in any way.

This guy in Chicago is just trying to save face, imho. He caved, so he needs to create an appearance of having won some sort of concession.

Fear and intimidation work quite well, at least on the short term. This is merely trying to get past November 6, 2012.

But what lies on the other side of that date? What happens, in fact, if Romney wins? Will the fear and intimidation be stepped up? (For those of you in Rio Linda, that is a “rhetorical question”. The only logical answer is “Hell, no”.)

Or consider the alternative - that somehow, despite all the cool reason and logical arguments arrayed against just that instance, Obama somehow manages to gain a bare majority of Electoral College votes, and squeezes back into a second term. Do you think for a minute that the pressure will stop at mere bullying? Expect any number of business owners that have expressed “incorrect” attitudes and opinions, to be summarily shut down for wholly specious and only barely plausible reasons, or mysterious “accidents” begin happening in these workplaces.

Due process be damned. There is a whole nation out there to be rebuilt and “re-educated”.

The Current Regime is just “upping their game”.

Exactly! This is what I've been saying (OK, screaming) all day...

The statement is found in my rant at post 38...

they will “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender”

That is indeed an actual CFA statement. From BEFORE this faggoty boycott business even started last July. And WHAT is wrong with that statement? Not a damm thing! That is and always has been a sensible (and Christ-like) business model.

But now? Now the homo nazi's have formed a perverted alliance through the media (of course) to twist this innocent old comment into their advantage.

Disgusting. They have Alinsky'd so many conservatives.

I support Chick-Fil-A all the way. The homosexual mafia is out for blood.

But the company just does not have a good public relations skills.

Since Don Cathy spoke out in favor of traditional marriage months ago, neither he nor the company have defended his words. They have run for cover and not said much. Now the gays in Chicago are claiming victory in the war. Whether or not it is a gay victory, the company is still not saying much. You can’t say fall back on old press releases when the other side is claiming victory.

Why doesn’t Cathy just restate what he once said about the traditional family? That was his finest hour. That was why millions of Americans came out to his stores to support him and his cause.

Nor do I. According to this article, the statement the gay groups are releasing is identical to the one before taking about treating people with respect, which is what they always did anyway.

http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pro-gay-chicago-alderman-claims-chick-fil-a-has-agreed-to-stop-anti-gay-don

Now, the more interesting part of all of this is the gay groups backing off their original statements highlightted in this article naming Focus on the Family and other groups.

I think this alderman is the one who changed and is trying to spin it to make it sound like Chick-Fil-A is caving when nothing has changed at all. I don’t buy that they are not commenting because they don’t want to upset anyone, rather I think they just want to stay out of all of this. I expect they will release a statement saying that basically nothing has changed one bit and alderman Moreno will have some ‘splainin to do t his gay friends.

I've just got back from CFA and asked their manager about this and he said there is no way Cathy a man he has met many times would ever stop supporting his religious views, the man is a devout Christian.

I asked him virtually what you just said and he also said that they can claim what ever they want but we know the truth and there is no need to keep bringing up this.

Anyone who has done some research on the homostapo and watched them knows they lie all the time, they have to in order to get their agenda pass but mostly try and pretend they are a majority to get money off the weaker less militant homosexuals.

The Left is hoping CFA will come out and deny the story thereby allowing the media to keep the story going.
