This is one of the failed policies of the eight years Before The 1. He, of course, fought against these releases tooth and nail, but Bush just kept letting them go willy nilly./s

This isn’t the first time that a terrorist released from Gitmo under the Bush administration went on to commit attacks. This is one reason why Obama’s proposal to shut down Gitmo was such a bad idea. Gitmo saves lives.

But in order to say “Bush’s fault” they will need to say that he should have stayed in Gitmo, a prison that they were against at the time, and most libs still are.
