Late 30s, her skin isn’t bad: not a heavy smoker, apparently, and not too much sun exposure, being Canadian. It looks like, nothing personal, she was pretty homely to start with, especially that loooong face.

It’s tween-teen marketing largely.
In general, he’s safe to fantasize him as a boyfriend. He’s a kid that a girl can take home and dad won’t mind. That’s the appeal.
