US-Afghan military operations suspended after attacks

Most joint U.S.-Afghan military operations have been suspended following what authorities believe was an insider attack Sunday that left four American solders dead, officials told NBC News.

“We’re to the point now where we can’t trust these people,” a senior military official said. So far this year, 51 NATO troops have been killed in these so-called blue-on-green attacks. Sunday's attack came a day after two British soldiers were shot dead by an Afghan policeman, Reuters reported.

I understand your position, but I disagree. We needed boots on the ground. The problem was there were too few boots. And, you’re correct regarding the need to go into Pakistan. We need to stop this politically correct BS of trying to make these people like/respect us. That will never happen. The best we can ever hope for is to make these evil b@st@rds fear us so much that they don’t dare pop their heads above ground.

That is one of the problems. They never will like us. So to put more boots on the ground would have solved nothing. Unless you resorted to methods that would have made Vlad the Impaler look like a mere piker. That would have instilled fear. Or at least some respect. When they found the enemy, they should have killed the enemy. EVERY time.

When I suggest we needed more boots on the ground it was not a suggesting for nation building. We fought WWII the correct way to fight a war - total and complete destruction of the enemy’s ability and will to fight. There is NO other way to fight a war. There is NO such thing as fighting a “kinder, more gentler” war. I would have no problem with a complete anhilation of Islam.
