I don’t know about M80 but Lake City has 5.56x45 ammo on sale for $349 per 1000 right now.

I didn’t really agree with Tom’s advice to the guy wanting a .308

Just because .223 is cheaper, doesn’t mean it’s a better choice for a battle rifle.

I don’t want to lug it, but I would prefer .308

It is. It’s like having a team of sniper spotters working for you, and it’s so accurate I can easily drop a round inside a 4-5” circle at 1,500-1,600yds. We’re going to run it out to 2,000yds next time I go up north to his farm’s range. I can even program custom loads with Barrett’s software on my PC, and transfer the data into the BORS via their USB cable. Hoo-wee!

Signing off; nite all!

I use the M4 with the conversion and use the conversion to fire
subsonic .22 SSS Aguila without any jams. It's recoil ejection
is independent.

One of my Co Workers just picked up the M4 and I bought the CMMG conversion kit from him.
He wanted a dedicated upper but got the entire M4 for like $400.
Sold me the conversion kit for $150
He got a great deal.
He says the conversion works well but is not as accurate as .223
The 22 is gonna rattle down the pipe a bit.
I think the 60 grain subsonic lead 22 may work better than would think in a 1/9 twist 223.

we will see.

The Aguila SSS round is long like the .223 with plenty of lead to grip the barrel.
1/7 I believe is standard .22 target rifling so the 1/9 should keep
the SSS round accurate even with the low velocity. I have no personal
field testing on the accuracy and can only go by my experience in
the range at 25 yards.

Maybe soon I'll have a chance to get outdoors for testing.

Quite honestly all I want it for is 25 yards and a whisper.

Salute.

Same morons for that one, the “green energy” scams, killing XL pipeline, killing coal-fired plants etc. That quip could be the Guinness Book of Records’ Longest Run-On Sentence, ever.
