I try to avoid Wal-Mart. But when I must go ther I always pay with a $100 Bill. The clerks always take out the counterfit pen and stare strangely at the bill as if they have never seen one they probably haven’t ever had one of their own. When they finally give me back my change I do something that really freaks them out. I ask to use their counterfit pen then I use it on the twenties that they just gave me. You should see the looks I get. It’s as if they dont know what to say or do like robots that are not fully programmed. Try this sometime it’s hilarious.
Oh I would just love to be behind you in a line. /s/
While I don’t condone the ripping of the bills or any of the hassles this lady got for her cash, it’s silly to hassle a 7.25 an hour employee for doing his/her job. Nor to delay the people behind you to get your jollies for the day.
I shop at Walmart. I use the Self-Check to avoid problems.
Two reasons I have read is that the larger bills are counterfeited more often and some robberies have used large bills to get managers out of the office to make change and then proceed to rob the place.
It must be so satisfying to lord it over those poor ignorant fools who have “probably never had a $100 bill of their own”. I wish I was special like you!
That's damned funny - I think I'll try it sometime. Especially since the WM near my office, where I usually buy a few items for breakfast or lunch, has started inspecting every single person's bags on the way out. I find that to be not only a PITA and a waste of my time, but insulting. Soooo, I will be only too glad to waste their time in return.

Wow! Great idea. I’ll have to remember that one.
