We should refer to these attacks as the “9/11 Embassy Attacks” to make it clear this was a terrorist act and not about a stupid movie.
More than a few Europeans like to bitch about America or talk America down. However, many of them will admit that they are glad the U.S. is there and they normally look to us (at least NATO did) to carry the heavy water and do the right thing.
That sentiment is changing as the new guard replaces the old guard that still carries the memories of WWII and the mentality of the Cold War. It is interesting to see how many young Europeans look at what we are doing and express disbelief. If not America, who?
