President Carter spoke to Drake University in Des Moines and was asked if he agrees with what Obama said about Egypt:
Carter: "Egypt is an ally of the US, we know Egypt well."
President Obama had earlier stated during an interview: Obama: 'Ya know, I don’t think that we would consider them an ally, but we do not consider them an enemy. '
Carter went on to Talk about Egypt's new President , Carter says he knows him well and has met with him. Carter said Egypt's president is dedicated to peace and truly a democratic government.

Carter also called Khomeini “a holy man” - his judgement on foreign policy has to be seriously questioned, as in Obama’s. If Carter could be called naive, then Obama’s is deliberately misguided.
Can we ask those who supported the removal of Ghaddafi tell us why they think Libya is safer, more contained now than it was during Ghaddafi?
I remember exchanging posts on why the US should not remove Ghaddafi and support Islamists in Libya, before, during and after the bombing of Libya began.
Some here on FR preferred to focus on “humanitarian support” the US, along with Britain & France, were providing to Libya & the Islamic rebels there, by removing “a terrorist” such as Gaddafi. Sadly, the same were supporting w/out knowing the socalled “rebels” or appreciating what was about to follow.... It was/is utterly incredulous!!

Several obvious charges come to mind.
Besides, Carter is a demented loser. And, Obama should realize that the color of his skin, his muslim heritage, or bowing to the Saudis will not help him win any favors in that part of the world.
Hillary should take copious notes.

I reckon we’ve only seen the tip of an iceberg in Libya. So will be in Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, and the entire ME.
Carter is old & is close to his grave, but his legacy is an awful one. Hope his children and grand children think seriously about him & his legacy. As do entire nations. Obama is a useless in general, except stroking his own ego, in the worst way, way worse than Clinton.
I believe in KARMA. It is said to be an Indian philosophy. However, in Persian language, Karma is literally said to be Kar-e Maa meaning “our deeds”. IOW, we reap what we sow.
What I’ve learned in my relatively short life so far is that “the Universe” has a way of responding to make things equal. The Universe is not particular at all about religious, nationality, ethnic, etc... beliefs or labels. It really can be a circle that one goes around in - that’s my take.
As someone who lived through the Carter Administration, I still cannot fathom how anyone who remembered it voted for BO.
It was flavor fury. At least that is what I call it. After one took a bite, and exposed what was underneath, the stench and the lingering disdainful taste repulsed the majority who bought into the flavor fury causing convulsions. It happens quite often in politics (imho).
