“Very similar to those looking for racism in every word or action,
things like logic, economics, thermodynamics, physics, and math are racist and offensive to Islam.”

Correct, and conservatives, now, are supposed to be the ones “afraid” of science.

Insane.

One ringie dingie.....

Two ringie dinies! (snort!)

Hello, Mr. Kaker?

Yes, this is Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. How are you this lovely afternoon?

Excellent. I just want to say how interesting I find your posts on Free Republic. They’re really a hoot sometimes, and we in the Administration appreciate some of your humor and your occassional support of us.

Nonetheless, it has unfortunately come to our attention that some of your posts have needlessley inflamed the Occupy Wallstreet Movement.

Yes, yes, they are a rowdy bunch. And they smell a bit too. Anyhoo, some of them have become violent as you may have noticed in the media.

So, I just want to ASK you politely if you would refrain from posting anything that the Occupy Wall Street movement might find offensive?

You know, anything like a defense of Free Markets or Speech. You know how it riles them up! And we at the Department really don’t need any more headaches.

I’m sure you understand.

For example, it would be tragic if anything were to happen to that nice dog “Fluffy” you’re holding or if that prop-job you’re taking to Sheboygan next week were to be, ah, “affected” shall we say by any of your anti-Occupy Wall Street postings.

So! Until next time, Mr. Kaker! You have a great day, and don’t cross any busy streets! Those OWS people can be so unpredictable, you know.

Point is: The General had no business making that call to begin with.

Seriously? A member of the US military calls a private citizen and "asks" that he do such-and-such for the good of the country? That is ominous. More evidence that for the DC elites, WE are the enemy.

Dempsey's "Mission":

Divert some of the blame for this hideous incident from Obama to the pastor.

This call was for public consumption, an attempt at political damage control.

That “science” meme is strong with the left these days.
The answer to “why do you believe that” is always “science”, and if asked, they can’t go any further than their appeal to the authority of “science”.

Of course, the process of “theorizing, experimenting, and repeating” can’t be done with most of the topics where they appeal to “science” as the end of the argument.

For all those FReepers who say “The military is on our side!” Look at this.

I understand what the general was trying to do. The natives WILL uses this to attack our troops overseas.

But we have the military lobbying to restrict free speech of civilians now. This pastor had better start thinking of moving to someplace more civilized.

On the surface, you’re right. No problem with one person asking another to reconsider continuing 1A-protected speech.

Below that surface, when the director of the most powerful military on the planet “asks” you to do something, you don’t consider it a simple man-to-man request.

I think you’re missing the point. A US Army General called a private citizen and asked him to engage in self-censorship.

I think the outrage is that a US Army General is mostly occupied with the very complicated job of drawing up plans for holding on to enemy territory during times of war. His job isn’t to ask law-abiding citizens to self-censor because Libya decided to declare war on the US by invading our embassy.

I would like to see the reaction from Russia had their embassy had been invaded.

This is idiotic because even if the film is pulled there will be another one somewhere in the West which they will use to incite violence.

Or a cartoon...or a speech...or a pamphlet..or a song...or a poem...or a child's drawing, etc. etc. etc.

Dempsey you pathetic puke, you dishonor your uniform, the oath that you took to uphold the Constitution, and the stars and fruit salad you wear on your chest. If you had any balls at all, you would at the MINIMUM resigned rather than to whip on those kneepads and serve your master 0bama. At the MAXIMUM, you would have arrested the sonuvabitch for betraying HIS oath to uphold the Constitution. You can take those stars and shove ‘em where the sun don’t shine, WITHOUT lube.
