BEIRUT, Sept 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff were killed in a rocket attack on Tuesday in the Libyan city of Benghazi, a Libyan official said.

Say wait a minute, didn't everyone tell us that once we got rid of ol' Muammar Gaddafi that everything would be wonderful, 'a thousand flowers of democracy would bloom' from the 'Arab Spring', and all that claptrap?

Funny isn't it, Gaddafi voluntarily turns over his WMD programs to the UK and the US, and was found to be far closer to achieving a nuclear capability than suspected, and he still winds up dead. I'm not at all defending the little turd, but let's face it: 0bama's illegitimate military incursion into Libya has produced nothing but the traditional Mongolian cluster screw-up, and now we have a dead ambassador and other consulate workers to show for it.

The death of the US ambassador, Christopher Stevens, was reported by Reuters, who had spoken to a Libyan official. It had not been confirmed.

It was not clear if the ambassador was in his car or the Libyan consulate when the attack occurred.

“The Libyan ambassador and three staff members were killed when gunmen fired rockets at them,” the official in Benghazi told Reuters.

The attack on Tuesday night followed another earlier in the day on the American embassy in Cairo, in which no-one was injured but the flag was taken down and torn up and replaced with the black flag used by radical Islamists.

Ambassador’s bodyguards also reported killed

Al-Jazeera has some more details of the consulate attack:

The ambassador was paying a short visit to Benghazi when the consulate came under attack on Tuesday night, Al Jazeera’s Suleiman Idrissi reported from the eastern Libyan city.

He died of suffocation during the attack, along with two US security personnel who were accompanying him, security sources told Al Jazeera. Another consulate employee, whose nationality could not immediately be confirmed, was also killed.

Two other staffers were injured, Idrissi reported.

The bodies of the dead were transported to the Benghazi international airport, to be flown to Tripoli and then onwards to a major US airbase in Germany.

What a nasty little trap Chairman Zero is in - if he does something militarily his moony left and islamic voting bases will surely castrate him - if he does nothing - such as sending a strongly worded Tweet - he'll be utterly vilified by the rest of the population.
