Timmons confirmed that as the pilot grabbed the crash ax, she jumped from her seat and started barricading the cockpit door. From the other side of the barricade the cabin crew relayed their concern about four young Arab men in first-class who became agitated when the take-off was cancelled, and fled from the plane when it returned to the terminal. Box cutters and Al Qaeda documents were later found in their luggage.
I wonder how many other teams there might have been
i remember hearing about this...
But I thought 9/11 was a government conspiracy that Bush and Cheney masterminded. /s
Huh? Who opened the airplane door so they could flee when the plane teached the terminal - especially when they were acting suspiciously?
Sorry, I don’t buy it.
Yes, I heard about it. In the few weeks after 9/11, when I was a flight attendant, I and many others heard it was a plane either in Washington, DC or Baltimore.
We also heard of many other instances of boxcutters being found in seat back pockets not long afterwards.
And of the recovery teams in NY finding human remains of people who had survived the initial blast and destruction, only to die when they couldn’t be rescued days to weeks later.
I didn’t know this.
But other Freepers did. See:

I thought the fifth team was at Newark.
I know you have the right info and links on this.
Please post them and help get this straight. TIA
OMG, even after 11yrs, I’ve never heard about this! Holy carp!! I wonder how many others there were?
...And an islamist terrorist currently occupies the White House.
My friend’s mother was on a flight from Atlanta to L.A. She does a considerable amount of flying and is not easily alarmed. She is also always in first class.
She said they were on the tarmac, preparing to take off when the flight was cancelled. There was at least one young middle eastern man in first class who was quite agitated at the cancellation. When they finally got back to the terminal the doors opened and the police walked in and escorted several men off the flight. She firmly believes they would have been hijacked.

I remember hearing CNN report about box cutters being found on another plane. It wasn’t a plane in NY though. I seem to recall it was in Atlanta. They’d grounded all the planes and after passengers had disembarked, they found the box cutters hidden in a few seats.
With so much else going on at the time, they didn’t talk about this very much. But I remember it being reported.
Our VCR ran non-stop, 24/7, for weeks after the attacks. I imagine if I went back and played the first several, I’d run across other brief reports that have been forgotten about.
