It was encouraging to see the bin Laden killing playing such a big role; there couldn’t be a more disinterested group in the war in Afghanistan than the Dem base. He was a convenient “issue”, but one that had receded in the priorities of a population increasingly bent on simply scraping together for their next rent/mortgage payment.
