A judge ordered Thursday that Maj. Nidal Hasan, the Army psychiatrist charged in a 2009 deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood, must shave or be forcibly shaved before his trial. Judge Col. Gregory Gross had said he would deliver a definitive order this week after a hearing to determine whether Hasan would be allowed to keep his beard, which he started growing while in jail earlier this summer. Gross barred him from appearing in military court, citing the Army’s strict regulations regarding grooming standards. Hasan's attorney, Lt. Col. Kris Poppe, said his client grew the beard as a “deeply sincere”

Why the trial could not have proceeded without the shave is beyond my comprehension. Sounds to me like the military prosecutors were pwnd by the defense.......

The Army has specific guidelines on forced shaving, the Associated Press reported. If Hasan refuses to shave himself, he would be restrained by five military police officers “with the reasonable force necessary,” and a medical professional would be on hand in case of any injuries. The shaving must be done with electric clippers and must be recorded on camera, according to Army rules.

These hearings were just pre-trial hearings that had no effect on the beginning of the actual trial. There is a FReeper who is involved in this case and he gave a very good explanation of what these hearings were about. This was just a side show orchestrated by his civilian attorney trying to muck up the works. The Presiding Judge only let it go on as long as it could to make sure there was no recourse for shaving this bastard’s neck with a machete, figuratively speaking but still making sure we, the human race, can count on his extermination at the very earliest time.
Shave him starting at his toes and let the straight razor work it’s way up slowly.....
More evidence our military is run now and influenced by domestic enemies in power. Thanks be to God there are a few constitution literate judges around, but this may not be over.
Romney has yet to throw himself down for the sake of the great document either, as the spectacle of its trampling continues under this regime.
If convicted? Thought he had already pleaded guilty. There is NO question he committed the murders. NONE May he soon face judgement in a court other than in the hands of men.
