Right actor, but wrong episode.
To me, the very best episode of The Twilight Zone stars the same actor, Burgess Meredith, and it is called The Obselete Man.
When I watch that episode, it makes me wonder if Mr. Serling could see the future.

I’d like to see that one (again...don’t remember it) but this was my favorite. Burgess Merideth is a lowly bank teller in danger of losing his job because he is caught reading when he should be working. He escapes into the vault at lunch to read when the nuclear attack occurs leaving him as an unlikely survivor. He finds a hardware store and retrieves a gun and is ready to end it all when he sees the ruins of the library and realizes he is in nirvana...until he reaches over to pick up one more book when his glasses fall off and shatter...and now he cant even find the gun again. It was a fabulous episode.

Burgess Meredith was in many Twilight Zone episodes. He was truly a great actor.

Charlotte, N.C., is a desperate Hail Mary to turn Obama's ears into a silk purse. Brilliant!

The Twilight Zone is truly some of the very best television ever produced. Mr. Serling was a genius, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say that based on some of his stories, he was a conservative.
