Douglas Band, former President Bill Clinton’s top aide, plans to vote for Mitt Romney in November, according to a report in The New Yorker.
In an extensive article on the complicated and often unpleasant relationship between Bill Clinton and President Obama, the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza reports that Band intends to cast his ballot for the former Massachusetts governor this fall.
“According to two people with direct knowledge, Douglas Band has said that he will vote for Romney,” Lizza writes. “Band declined to comment.”
Lizza explains that Band believes an Obama defeat will bode well for Hillary Clinton’s presidential prospects.
“For [Bill] Clinton, the politics are more complicated,” he writes.
“His associates take it as a given that he would like nothing more than to see his wife become President. Hillary Clinton will step down as Secretary of State after the campaign and begin the process of deciding whether she will run in 2016. By some measures a defeat for Obama in November would leave Hillary the undisputed leader of her party and propel her toward the Oval Office that much faster. At least one of Clinton’s closest advisers seems to be backing that strategy.”
Lizza describes Band, 39, as “Clinton’s closest political adviser.”

It is hard to believe Clinton himself would like Obama.
I expect Clinton’s speech will not say anything about why Obama should be re-elected, but more about Clinton’s vision for the party in the future. And Obama won’t be very happy about it.
Even Dick Morris said that Bill Clinton will be voting for Romney, dont be shocked if Hillary Clinton doesn’t do the same.

Does Clinton have resentment for Obama?
After what they did to him in 2008, Clinton has the ultimate chance to B-slap O on national TV.
What little, if any, credibility Clinton has left will be zero once he lectures us on why we should vote for Obama. But, being the professional liar that he is shouldn’t shock anyonwant what comes out of his mouth.
I wonder if Clinton’s girlfriend or girlfriends will show up with him since Hillary is halfway around the world? We KNOW he has them!
I think they hate each other passionately.
But given the circumstances, they have a truce with each other to fight against the common enemy - freedom.
And yes, I am still voting for Romney.
They may have to carry Chis Matthews and Wolf Blitzer out of the Democrat Convention in straight jackets if Clinton tell the truth about Obama.
It’s real simple. Bill and Hillary have been planning this for some years now. The surface says hillary wants to be POTUS; but that’s only the surface. She is the next step to crushing the USA.
I would bet in the privacy of the voting booth, Bill is also voting for Romney.
I'm sure all of the Clintons, and their supporters, will vote for Romney. They hate the Liberal Messiah more than any Republican.
