I pretty much agree with your analysis and would apply it to the MSM in general, so I don’t see this as any different that abc, cbs, nbc, cnn, upi, ap, etc., etc.
Nonetheless, in the context of asking to get rid of Todd Akin, this is not just a joke but it is a dangerous joke.
I don’t think people at that level ‘joke’ about murder. At a minimum, this was an attempt to reach out and intimidate Akin. At a minimum, it was intended to produce personal fear, for one’s future if not one’s life.
