Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll(Obama 47-Mitt 44)
www.rasmussenreports.com ^ | Monday, August 27, 2012 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 08/27/2012 6:47:45 AM PDT by CaptainK

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows President Obama attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while Mitt Romney earns 44% of the vote. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

A president’s job approval rating is one of the best indicators for assessing his chances of reelection. Typically, the president’s job approval rating on Election Day will be close to the share of the vote he receives. Currently, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) at least somewhat disapprove of the job Obama is doing (see trends).

The Todd Akin effect

Yep. Massive female cratering, after saturation media coverage. And we haven't even hear about how racists Mormons were and how Mitt "did not stand up to it".

The Todd Akin effect.

Possibly. Unlikely. Probably statistical noise. Don't panic.

People who post on political sites just don’t understand how “low information” most voters really are. I had a woman in my church (who I normally would suspect to be a Romeny supporter) said that she heard that Paul Ryan said some rape was legitimate. They get their information from the media and the effort to tie Romney and Ryan to Akin’s comments works.

The second thing is that you are right. 80 years of the Welfare State has turned a lot of Americans into takers and they see nothing wrong with it. They do believe that the “rich” are sitting around on yachts drinking champaigne and paying 5% of their income in taxes.

This is an offshoot of the supposed “likability” factor, that is claimed to be working in favor of the Current Occupant of the White Hut.

But how anybody who is so arrogant, shallow and thoroughly self-absorbed can manage to be “likable”, has to be one of the really great sales jobs so far of this young century. Beneath that veneer, which is the hallmark of the practiced sociopath, is a vicious, mean-minded CREEP, who has his own brand of anti-colonial hatred for all people of northern European origin. Dreams from his father, for sure.

I noticed in Rasmmussen polls that Obama does really well over weekends.. Alot of conservatives are out on weekends so it is probably harder to poll them..

True, but Obama hasn't polled this well since May

But I’ve also been told on FreeRepublic that polls during the week are no good because conservatives are out working. So either all polls are bogus (possible) or there are a lot of Freepers who are in denial about the large dumbass Democrat voting block in this country.

Given the state of the economy it is hard to understand the support for Obama. However, I take some comfort in the fact that the real race is just beginning this week with the RNC convention.

It appears this race will come down to turnout. The conservatives are fired up. The issues are on Romney's side. The audiences at Obama rallies are yawning.

Guess I need to pay even less attention to polls.

The fact of the matter...and what every political pundit knows but doesn't like to say, is that polls don't matter until late October after the final debate. We assume because we live and breath politics that everybody else does as well, the truth is the vast majority don't even start paying attention until the final two weeks of the race. If Obama is still up on October 27th, then you can start to worry...

Incurable ignorance.

Well, the voters get the government they deserve IMO. Unfortunately I am not in a position of saying I am out of here if this POS wins again. Rasmussen is generally a good poll so my sense is Dumbney is getting ready to pull another McCain.

I bet its the effect of Akin and his puppeteer, Huckabee. Neither has enough sense, or cares, that they will not only help us lose the presidency, but also any chance that the Supreme Court would put the slightest limits on abortion.

Nobody wants to say that but it’s 100% true. Now that i agreed with you i’m sure his defenders will come out of the woodwork to explain yet again how great a man he is and how we all need to stand strong with him because after all, sticking our heads in the stand is always a winning proposition.

Who knows.. One thing all these polls tell us is that Omama never gets to 50%... If he hasn’t cracked 50% yet, he never will ..

Well, some of his supporters now are happy that the election has turned into discussions about rape and abortion. If with that Romney and the rest of Republican candidates are forced to show their ‘true color’ as liberals that’s good. If Romney lost, even better. That’ll teach them RINO a lesson for abandoning Akin. What? More abortions will happen if Obama is reelected? Darn RINO!
