It's a little long in the middle, but I think it's brilliant and appropriate. Way better than Vidal, with little verbal grenades at the end of each sentence. Very funny, and it's all true. And the "nil nisi bonum" section at the end doesn't disappoint.
Thanks for posting, and no need to minimize it. To re-build our civilization, we do need to define the more egregious wrong turns closely.
Is this supposed to be a hint that Vidal was dead while he lived? I mean while he was alive, it certainly was not a violation of such customs of respect to blast him with criticism.
