The difference is that in '68 the cops had no problem using tear gas and clubbing the bastards like baby seals.
I have a first hand report that shows me that Florida and the LEO are protecting the 2A rights of Floridians.
I was in the security zone in Tampa almost the entire time Saturday, slept over night in the zone and most of the day Sunday. I did not possess any credentials to enter the forum or convention center, nor did I try. I did have the ‘Perimeter Pass’ that came with my staying in a hotel within ‘The Zone’. My stay was a room in the same hotel that the Massachusetts delegation and you know who was staying.
I possess A FL CCW permit and was concealed carrying the entire time. At no point was I asked with regard to any weapon(s). At night I did see and pass dozens of national guard marching, all carrying significant weaponry.
I had to exit the secure zone once Saturday night and re-enter on foot. (Taxis were not permitted in the zone.)
There was no metal detectors in use for pedestrians entering. On Sunday, I exited by car and had to re-enter with the vehicle. It took 45 minutes, involved a k-9 sniff, extensive inspection of the car, under the hood, trunk, open cases, etc. At no time was my person searched or was I asked about weapons.
The mayor of Tampa tried a month ago to ban all citizenry CCW within city limits and our Gov. Scott stood up for the 2A and shutdown that attempt.
Tampa is safer with the citizen being able to protect themselves and those near them.
Just thought I would report from here in St. Petersburg. All is well.
Issac is not going to cause problems to the Tampa bay area, except probably littls rain bands with some wind. Sun just peeked out here and no rain for the past six hours. Just overcast and windy.
As for Issac causing trouble elsewhere, I hope it does not strengthen as it heads toward MS and LA. Seems when storms enter the Gulf they head for the Florida Panhandle area and coastlines of AL,MS and LA. News about this being the anniversary of Katrina is surely to make folks in LA worry some. But remember one HUGE DIFFERENCE! Now LA has a wonderful Governor in Bobby Jindal who will make sure folks in LA are safe. During Katrina LA had a DEM Governor and New Orleans Mayor with few brains! As much as President Bush tried to warn and help them, they were too dumb to protect their citizens!
Now for the Protest Folks thinking they will cause trouble in Tampa. What they might not know is we are prepared for them! Perhaps they know nothing about our Governor Scott and our Law Enforcement folks. They are ready, and the Hillsborough Prison system has 1,700 spots available for anyone who chooses to not behave themselves. The “teaser & cart off to jail dance” will be done if need be!
Hubby and I are looking forward to attending one event tomorrow evening in support of our Military, and on Thursday afternoon an event honoring our favorite Congressman, Allen West. And the Florida sun is out bright as I end this posting!! :)

Well, the communist regime is making sure to establish through their enablers, the MSM, that the OWSers, union thugs, Communists, anarchists, and black panthers are the moral equivalence of the Tea Parties.
When the communists start the violence, they want to make sure of "we told you so!"
I wouldn't put it past them to use their thugs dressed as Tea Parties with American flags and all, chanting against women, blacks and destroying property.
This will be the communist media AHA moment and that they always suspected that will happen. Hey, we told you so, see?
The only defense is to document incidents through videos, demand the arrest of "the fake Tea Partiers" and follow up to find out QUICKLY who they really are and who paid them!
I emphasized "quickly" to find out through H0lder's teeth that the thugs are HIS White communists and NOT the Tea Parties WELL BEFORE THE ELECTION!
Tech types need to be on the lookout for false “right wing/Tea Party” extremists who commit violence so their names can be instantly checked on FB and other means to disprove the false “right wing” appellation.

Right, as in a gas mask. When the tear gas flies, the bad guys would want to stay functional, so they can hit the cops with their BB guns and irritate them enough so that they over react. And so, they would have the need to make very sure of their gas mask seals.
Oh, that makes more sense. I was thinking like those goofy Guy Fawkes masks.

Another machete. Hmmmmnnnn.....
The first one looked more like an ethnic knife- with a blade that bellies out into an unusually wide blade near the tip to give it weight- than a machete. Can’t think of what they are called, a bolo knife perhaps? It was about half the length of a machete, much easier to conceal, and the dork had it strapped to his lower leg.
