When I was young it was Catholics that were the face of the right to life movement.
In the 80s it shifted to the evangelicals.
Now after the exposure of the belief in the magic spemacide/uterus I wish Catholics would retake the mantle.

Believing, Mass going Catholics are still the most pro-life of any religion. When Roe v. Wade came out the
Catholic Church was about the only Christian church that was against abortion. Most protestants were pro-abortion. The Catholic Church has been pro-life for 2,000 years.

What does bother me is how the media lumps cafeteria catholics (small C), into any discussion of the Catholic faith. When the media says Obama got 54% of Catholic voters they never tell you that the majority of these catholics are not believers and have not been to Mass in years. The Cathacism is clear. You get be for abortion and homo marriage and still be Catholic, but these hypocrites still call themselves Catholic (along with the Pelosis, Bedin’s, Kennedy’s), and make REAL believing Catholics look bad. I think any Catholic politician that openly promotes that which causes great scandal in the Church (abortion and homo-marriage), should be excommunicated from the Church. Let them join the Episcopalians, who have no problem with sodomite marriage or abortion on demand. I am tired of cafeteria catholics making the rest of us look bad.

Where are you that Catholics don’t head the Pro-Life movement? Have you ever been to a “March for Life”? Catholics are there by the thousands. I know, it’s not covered by the MSM, so how would you know?

We have three buses leaving from my parish alone in January to go to Washington. We meet up with many others and caravan.

Bet you didn’t see this on the evening news!

You have too many variables in your sentence.

Akin is obviously hardcore RTL, although a bit soft on some elements ~ from my point of view, but so is your local bishop.

Most of the guys in the hierarchy never call out for the death penalty for rapists, nor for abortionists, yet i think you have to add that to the RTL side or you are not consistent with the "protect the innocent' doctrines.

The issue Akin raised (the magic spemacide/uterus) really isn't relevant to the issue ~ which is why you'll see so many asking why he even said that ~ and if he had been truly consistent in his RTL positions he'd not even found himself inartfully grasping for that concept ~ he could have simply said, "we don't kill babies' and toss it all back to his interrogator!
