There is no doubt that Barack Obama used social media networking to his advantage in 2008 and has been effective at networking ever since. So adept his campaign at reaching out to supporters online that that he has 18,834,433 Twitter followers. To put that number in perspective, consider that GOP challenger Mitt Romney has only 900,377 Twitter followers, or about 47% as many.
But appearances can be deceiving, says a new social media metrics tool. Called Fake Follower Check, the site reveals that 41% of Obamas Twitter followers are phony and another 35% are inactive. In contrast, only 22% of Romneys Twitter followers are fake and 33% are inactive.
In its report on the tool, New Yorks Daily News notes the following caveat at Fake Follower Checks website:
For those of you with 100,000 followers or less [sic] we believe our tool will provide a very accurate insight into how many inactive and fake followers you have.
If youre very, very popular the tool will still provide good insight but may better reflect your current follower activity rather than your whole follower base.

who cares. Both of them are liberal and has a liberal fake following. Go Facebook. Twitter is useless.
MATH fail. Big time.
Tell me about it.
LMAO! Try maybe 4.78% Which, by itself, is absolutely preposterous.
This is an outrageous charge.
President Obama is a genuine twit.
Kind of easy to see nearer 5% and not 50%. Ahh Journalism is deadno matter main stream or blog or what have you.
Everything associated with this guy is phony and a fraud.
>>MATH fail. Big time.<<
Yep, try asking the average voter to a) put thousands, trillions, millions, and billions in ascending order and then to b) define each one.
Then try asking the average reporter to do the same.
Then try asking a Congressman.
The results of all three surveys will tell you why we’re trillions of dollars in debt in this country. Most people have no idea what a trillion even means, and I mean how it’s mathematically defined, not how big a pile of pennies it is.
Bump
Hmmm either the math is wrong or the number is wrong.. if the percent is wrong it’s about 4.7% as many.. if it’s the number than romney has about 9,000,000 people.. or Obama only 1.8 million.
