I would rather Santorum than the liberal we got stuck with. I am sure I will make folks angry, but the “liberals” on here hate me already; so....

When Santorum speaks on social issues, he is sometimes politically incorrect but never uninformed, as Akin is. Huge flaps when Santorum compared homosexuality with bestiality. He was only quoting the traditional definition of sodomy that until recently appeared in Blacks Law Dictionary, and making the point that if we cavalierly change the meaning of words, then anything is permitted. Liberals are the disciples of Marcuse, whose aim was the destruction of the bourgeoisie family. Akin comes from a faith tradition which puts less stock in precision.

My opinion is that Santorum was the candidate the Dems were hoping would get the nomination. He would have been demonized, rightly or wrongly, by the left as being a religious “zealot”. The “war on wimmin” would have been used far more successfully against Santorum than it has been with Romney. The anti-women strategy against Romney is a joke and everyone knows it.
