My understanding is that the Missouri barriers to third party and write-in candidates are pretty high. It's unlikely that the Murkowski strategy would be successful since Missouri has many more voters than Alaska and the only other time it worked was for Strom Thurmond in 1954. (I'm still amazed that a plurality of Alaska voters could spell "Murkowski".)
Like Rush said -- the Democrats circle the wagons, the Republicans form a circular firing squad.
Actually, Rush has never been one to circle the wagons and defend the indefensible. Ever.
