You don't think they're going to ask the Pubbies about rape now whether or not Akin stays in or out? How is Akin dropping out going to stop them from making this an issue? They already created Sandra Fluke to make contraception an issue. And I've seen precious little pushback of late against the forced inclusion of contraception in health care plans when it's a gross offense should be a plank of the Republican campaign. It's time for to go on offense as our best defense because the offensive from the other side is coming no matter what you do.

Akin is not the only one in denial. There’s a vocal minority here on FR (JediJones, Uncle Chip, etc) who seem to believe that Akin (a) spoke the truth and (b) the GOP establishment was behind all of this.
In their minds, Akin did nothing wrong, said nothing wrong, etc. It’s all someone else’s fault.
