That's quite a cover that 1.5 million people will get in their mailboxes.

1.5 million people still subscribe to Newsweek magazine? I'm having trouble believing it - do these people know they're subscribers?

We used to get US News and World Report. When it went belly-up, we started receiving Newsweek, apparently because they bought the subscription list. I usually get it out of the mailbox and put it in the trash, but this issue I might take a look at.

Another few million read the cover in the grocery store lines each week.

Not long ago, I got junkmail from Newsweek offering their fishwrap for $10 a year with a nice bag for new subscribers. I suspect that's how they picked up most of their subscribers.

Hmmm...a real mystery, isn’t it. There are only 150,000 dentists in the US, and many of them share an office.

I bet they mail most of those directly to the recycling center.

Good point. I received Newsweek for years for some unknown reason. Never got a bill, and didn't read it. It makes a good liner for the cat litter box, though.

I bet a significant portion are establishments with waiting rooms.
