Is this the Kenyan edition?

Not unless it's so bad that even the Kenyans are embarrassed and alienated by their native son...

Just further proof that even a broken clock is right twice a day (in come cases once a day).

This also maybe a hail Mary effort for Newsweak to save itself by converting over to what they consider the dark side.

That picture is a forgery! Look closely and you will see an American flag lapel pin on his jacket.

I haven’t figured it out completely, but I am getting a sense of what I call the “Dad syndrome” amongst Leftists these days.

You see, in my theory, a lot of the Left in America (and elsewhere) is totally fair weather. They “fight” for social justice not from any real deep-seated commitment, but actually from some vague sense of “fairness” and because it’s cool, and that’s where all the fun is.

But at the same time, they want their Starbucks, their Birkenstocks, their iPhones and all that. They hate discipline, don’t really want to study and work, but they know that somebody has to do it, or there will be no goodies for them to enjoy when it’s raining outside and they don’t feel up to “fighting for social justice”.

Getting Obama elected was cool. They really stuck it to “the man”. Hell, the whole Occupy movement was nothing more than one long party. But...

The economy is crashing. Everyone can sense it. Either Obama doesn’t have a clue as to how to fix it, OR he has no interest in fixing it. They can sense that, too. And the reality that fact portends is starting to scare the piss out of them.

This is true not only for the young, but also for the upper crust Libs. They are starting to realize that in the brave new world rapidly being created through destruction of American institutions, their positions will be extremely shaky. If the bottom falls out of the dollar, if the capitalist market economy falls — their savings, their assets, their social positions, their very lives could totally collapse.

They’ve bitten off more than they can chew and they are secretly scared to death.

Newsweek is the first major Liberal media organ to bolt, but they won’t be the last, I reckon.

Time to put the grownups back in charge.

[We know Newsweek hates traditional Americans... why would they do this?]

Just shuffling the deck.

The Chicago tentacle will be replaced with the Salt Lake tentacle and it will back to the bidness of shearing the McSheeple ala their own stupidity as usual.

It really is a shocking cover, and apparently authentic. Obama has made a mess of everything and things are getting worse by the day. He’s such a failure he makes Jimmy Carter look like a great president and accomplished statesman by comparison.

I would really like to have been in the editorial room when the decision was made to publish this piece. Clearly it’s not the position of Newsweek- this is just a column they agreed to publish. The question is- why?

It’s unlikely they’re actually attempting to become an unbiased organization. I’m not sure what their thinking was- but it’s still amazing to see this on the cover.

An excellent post! As anecdotal evidence, I work around a bunch of elitist libs and their enthusiasm has definitely cooled off over the past three years, probably for reasons along the lines of what you suggest. I’ve even heard open criticism of him on conference calls which I thought would never happen. The thrill is gone.
