Romney can be redeemed, as can anyone. Ryan will help.

Sadly true. I simply cannot violate my conscience and vote for Romney. You can put up with lesser faults in order to defeat a great evil, but you cannot support one intrinsic evil in order to avoid another. And Romney has a long record of intrinsic evil.

He was the PIONEER of gay marriage, the author of the first state gay marriage mandate forcing it on the voters. He was a pioneer of taxpayer-funded abortions disguised as “health care.”

There is absolutely no reason to think that he has changed and repented. A religious conversion? I think not, since he was already a Mormon bishop when he did those things.

Since he seems to have the RINO party nomination sewed up, we do indeed rely on God to straighten out this mess. Let us pray that God does not abandon our country for its sins. That’s about all we can do at this point: stand strong, pray, and refuse to give in to the evil that swarms around us.

Is that defeatist? I think not. Defeatist would be to give in and go along with the corrupt leaders of both parties, the press, the entertainment industry, and most of the educational establishment.

May God show us a leader or leaders whom we can follow and support.

Just abide by the constitution and defend our God-given unalienable rights. Liberty and the free economy will flourish.

That is the unalterable truth, Jim.

As shown by this map, where the union goons are held at bay, the economy is strong, even in spite of the Marxist policies now in effect:

Unionism, abortionism and homosexualism are the trio of evils that destroy not only our economy but our morality. Abolishing the minimum wage is another action that will rescue America from the brink. Boldness is needed now more than ever. Rebellion is brewing.

May God's will be done! Amen.

Romney’s weak non-statement about Chick-fil-A Day tells us plenty about him. He could have chosen to praise those of us who stood up to the Queer Mafia and supported religious freedom ... but instead he was worried about offending the perverts.

Sorry, Jim, I don't like Romney's past either, but I must vote in self-defense. Unless someone else occupies the White House, Obamanation will continue.

The only person I see with the ability to beat 0bama is Romney. I don't like the guy's past, either, but I think he is more manageable than 0bama. With the Republic this far gone, we don't have the luxury of picking the pure conservative candidate. There are none left in the race.

I will vote for Romney to disrupt the 0bama regime.

Romney is not a born again conservative. He is not now nor ever will be conservative. He is a committed member of the liberal Republican elite and he is not going to change.

Romney made a good choice in picking Ryan as his running mate, but he has already let it be known he is in charge, he has his own ideas, etc. etc. Sounds to me like he won't be utilizing Ryan for anything more than window dressing. Obviously, he didn't learn anything from the McCain/Palin failed candidacy.

Even worse is that except for a handful of conservatives, the Republicans in Congress are also liberals. Some here think Romney as President can be reigned in with enough conservatives in Congress. But that's a pipe dream. There are plenty of candidates going around claiming to be conservative, but be assured they are not. They are puppets of the same liberal Republican hierarchy. Put them in office and it will be the same old, same old.

If we survive a Romney administration or an Obama dictatorship, the Republican party has to wither on the vine and replaced by a new conservative party.

Amen brother, Amen!!!

And let’s start with the Supreme Court itself. What John Roberts did to Obamascare is legitimized it. For that I would vote IMPEACHMENT in disgrace.

Everyone of those judges should stand investigation and as needed impeachment. Kagan, Sotomayor, Ginsberg, and Stevens all need to feel the wrath of the American People. They are NOT above review. And so on down the line to the US District Judges.

Repeal the 16th Amendment. Repeal the 17th Amendment.

Your program for Ole Mitt is impossible.

His selection of Ryan shows a lot more promise than I had expected.

Their election could very well produce many of the things you hope for. Their loss would be GUARANTEED to eliminate any chance of them being accomplished.

Just getting that shrew out of the White House is sufficient cause for me to vote for R/R even if I weren’t a huge fan of Ryan.

There’s the story of the man whose house was being flooded by heavy rains. When the water was up to the porch, the sheriff’s office sent by a boat.

“I will not have the government rescue me,” said the owner. “I will wait for God to rescue me.”

When the water covered the first floor of his home, the sheriff’s office sent another boat to him.

“I will not have the government rescue me,” the owner insisted. “I will wait for God to rescue me.”

When the water was up to the roof line, the man clung to his chimney and the sheriff’s office sent a boat to him one last time.

“I am not changing my mind,” said the owner. “I will wait here for God to rescue me.”

The water came up above the chimney and the man drowned. When he arrived in Heaven, he complained that God did not rescue him from his house.

“Sure I did,” said the Lord. “I sent a boat over to you three times. It’s not my fault you were too foolish to get in.”

This illustrates, to me, how foolish some FReepers are that won’t allow an imperfect candidate to rescue them from the greater evil of Obamunism.

Ask yourself this. If God’s plan is to elect Romney so the economy begins to heal and then Romney dies in office making Ryan president, is that not far better than re-electing Obama and having him die in office so Biden becomes president?

After all, with God, all things are possible. Why not trust God to do it His way instead of insisting you know better?

Amen.

Politics IS the art of the possible -- when Clinton won on a plurality the first time, the "possible" happened and he was forced to the right by the Republican Revolution. When he was elected by a plurality the second time, he was impeached. Talk about the art of the possible! And God lending a hand!

ABOers, there's a better way to use your vote. Forget about holding your nose and voting for Romney. Instead, HEED your nose and reject him. When your nose tells you something stinks, it's warning you it's rotten or toxic. Your nose is a wise and faithful guide. HEED IT.

USE your vote in the "art of the possible" by voting for a plurality -- voting third party. Mathematically and materially, any and all third party votes (and there will be plenty from the left) favor neither Obama nor Romney, but each and every one counts toward reducing the popular mandate of the winner. Because Obama is so very low in support and so many former supporters have abandoned him, there's very little chance he could win a majority. Good conservatives who rightly loathe Romney have been whipped up into a state of hysteria by pundits of the right, and it is dangerously near frightening them into voting for someone they KNOW is wrong.

Voting third party risks an Obama win, as it also risks a Romney win. Either way, the next president will be a liberal statist whom conservatives in Congress will have to oppose. Historically, conservatives have made great strides opposing liberal presidents elected on pluralities.

Thank you, Jim, and God bless you, Free Republic, and America. And may He help conservatives overcome the affliction of ABO before November.

"We are the tea party"

TEA Taxed Enough Already is what my TEA Party stands for. You're asking for someone to do something no other electable candidate has ever advocated before, and for things that have never been discussed at any TEA Party I've ever been to. In my view, it's time to fight only the battles that can conceivably be won.

Jim, after all the work I put in for what’s his name on the last presidential election I vowed never again, yet here I am encouraging the Romney vote. Granted, Romney wasnt our 1st 2nd or even 3rd choice; but I doubt our Country could withstand another 4 years of assault from Mr Executive Order. Look at the damage that has been done since he took office. Before you refuse to vote or vote 3rd party I ask you and all others to seriously consider what’s at stake. I know it sounds cliche, this is the most important election of our lifetime.

"Just abide by the constitution and defend our God-given unalienable rights."

Very well worth repeating.

If you don't vote for someone you agree with, your opinion will never be known and you will have waste your vote.

P.S. I will not be providing any mandate for Romney or Obama.

God helps those that help themselves.

Romney is the candidate because conservatives failed to present a viable alternative. People are free to chose who they will vote for, but a second term of Obama, no longer concerned with reelection, would be a terrible thing.

If Romney can be pressured, cajoled, or threatened to replace Ginsburg with a conservative justice, it will be enough to override everything he did in the past. But if fat almost 80 year old Scalia suffers a stroke, and Obama replaces him with his favorite ACLU lawyer, it is basically over.

Nobody I know voted for Romney in the primary (well one Mormon coworker) but nobody is seating this one out either.

The conservative grassroots are slowly winning the abortion and gun rights issues from the bottom up, independently of who happens to be president. The best way for the libs to stop this progress is by stacking the federal judiciary at all levels against us, and by thwarting us with all the regulatory and behind-the-scenes bureacratic means that come with owning the executive branch. The perfect way to help them do this is to let Obama have a second term. Why should we enable them? How is this principled?

Romney is somewhere between an opportunist and a squish on social issues. But he’s not a committed ideologue like Obama. Furthermore, electing Romney isn’t just electing Romney. You’re electing a whole bureacracy that comes to power with him, and it’s going to be full of good pro-life and pro-gun people who will work behind the scenes to help our side. But this will not happen if we help Obama weasel his way into a second term.
