Artur Davis, a Democrat-turned-Republican former congressman from Alabama, on Wednesday accused Vice President Joe Biden of using racially divisive rhetoric that is "insulting" to African-Americans.
"I know what Joe Biden was doing yesterday," Davis said in an appearance on CNN. "Every black person in that room knew who the 'y'all' was. They knew what the chains were. They knew what the metaphor was about."
In remarks at a campaign event in Virginia Tuesday with a number of African-American audience members, the vice president lambasted Romney for allegedly wanting to repeal financial regulations enacted after the Wall Street crash of 2008.

All I can say is “Who’s racist now?”
LOL
A stupid remark, to be sure. But deeply offensive? Not really.
Sad that it will not matter. The D card is worth more points than the Race Card in the MSM deck of cards.
Biden channeling Hillary Clinton, Y’all!
Talking to a largely black audience Joe pulls out the old chains. And you don’t find that offensive? Amazing. Can you imagine if Ryan did the same thing with the same audience and talked about being on the Democrat Plantation?
When Biden does that it’s stupid.
When Obama does that it’s evil.
As I have always said, it is NOT what is said, but who says it.
Case in point -

Naw. I just roll my eyes and move on.
well, it sure was condescending - just like his 'clean & articulate' was - but demRats skate
What the WASHINGTONIANS are up to in DC make King George III "Intolerable Acts" look like small potatoes.
Thank God for the Apparatchiks so many Americans are imbeciles with no concept of history.
And they have the Franchise now to boot.
Happy Days for the WASHINGTONIANS, no matter which faction is in power, always HAPPY DAYS!!!!
Davis, who is black, said he was disappointed to hear Biden, "someone I grew up admiring," talk about "one party putting people in chains."
argued that the people in the audience responded negatively to the vice president's "divisive" rhetoric.
This is the first I have heard of any reaction from Bidden's audience. Has anyone else heard heard how this comment was received?
The black citizens in the room were middle class Americans - most of them were probably professionals. For Biden to talk to them as if they were poor, angry and one step out of the plantation is insulting. I’m surprised Biden didn’t do a black face routine along with his fake southern drawl...
Flash: Bull Conner was a democrat. Robert KKK Byrd was a Democrat. George Wallace was a democrat... all the inbred racist were democrats.
There was a black congressman on Neil Cavuto that didn’t take too kindly to the remark, but I don’t know his name.
